[Bug 1045719] [NEW] Display port monitor detected, but no signal sent
Public bug reported: I have two monitors: one connected via VGA, and one connected via DisplayPort. When the X server starts, there is a signal on both monitors. But when the monitor on DisplayPort is switched off, then back on, the monitor no longer detects signal. However, the monitor is detected: dm and GNOME react to the new monitor and it appears in xrandr output. The signal comes back after restarting the X server. [Bug 1029454] [NEW] cselim tree optimizer generates incorrect code
Public bug reported: I think gcc (4.6.3-1ubuntu5, amd64) generates incorrect code with the attached test case. The expected output is m = 8241071186. However, when compiled with -O3, it outputs m = 1. Looking further, it seems that the following lines: *m = 1UL; ularith_div_2ul_ul_ul_r (m, 0UL, 1UL, s); are being swapped in the assembly output. The output is correct when compiled with -O2 or with -O3 -fno-tree- cselim. On Debian (version 4.6.3-1), the output is always correct. I have reports that the output is correct with upstream gcc compiled on Ubuntu, so this behaviour looks Ubuntu-specific. ** Affects: gcc-4.6 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1029454 Title: cselim tree optimizer generates incorrect code To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-4.6/+bug/1029454/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've patched ocamlopt so that all symbol functions have this directive, and the empty program works! I'm afraid this means that everything has to be recompiled with the patched ocamlopt... this is confirmed by a test on lwt. What about upgrading to ocaml 3.12.1 at the same time in Ubuntu? The packaging is ready for Debian (it is currently waiting for ACK from the release team), and also means recompiling everything. Most packages recompile with no source changes with ocaml 3.12.1 [1]. [Bug 770786] Re: ocsigen version 1.3.3-1 failed to build on amd64 with GCC-4.6/oneiric
Well... it wasn't the case when I made the patch and asked for sponsorship. But meanwhile, this transition came up. And in Debian, lwt builds with no source changes with the new findlib, so a binNMU was sufficient. I see that findlib is up-to-date (1.2.7+debian-1) in oneiric, but not postgresql-ocaml (1.16.0-1). It would indeed be better to have postgresql-ocaml up-to-date first before updating lwt (nurpawiki depends on lwt and postgresql-ocaml, and updating any of those means recompiling nurpawiki). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/770786 Title: ocsigen version 1.3.3-1 failed to build on amd64 with GCC-4.6/oneiric To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ocsigen/+bug/770786/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The current failure is due to an out-of-date lwt [1]. But the latest lwt fails to build in Ubuntu because of the linker changes. I've pushed a fix for lwt in the Debian git repository [2], and submitted it to my PPA [3]. [Bug 612296] Re: failed to install
This happens with me with ubuntu 10.04 32bit as well as 64 bit also sudo aptitude install approx In a clean lucid chroot (I am running Debian testing), this works for me. Same problem, approx fails to install (and remove) on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop amd64, approx 4.1-1build1. I have no problem purging approx either. Maybe there is some bad interaction with another installed package... I was able to resolve this by installing the following missing dependancies, which are not checked by the package install: libocamlnet-ocaml libpcre-ocaml libsha-ocaml libsyslog-ocaml ocaml-base-nox What makes you think these are dependencies? [Bug 257524] Re: ocamlnet library compiled without SHM support
It seems that the package has been built in an environment lacking /dev/shm, and therefore the test program failed, hence the value of Netsys.have_posix_shm. AFAICT, this is an issue in Ubuntu building infrastructure, not in the package itself. I could make the package building fail if /dev/shm is not mounted... but it would then always fail in Ubuntu build farms... is that what we want? -- ocamlnet library compiled without SHM support https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 533753] Re: [OCaml 3.11.2 transition][round 6/6] Please sync packages involved in OCaml transition from Debian (sid) to lucid (universe)
I hereby request a freeze exception for matita. It is a new (quite different) upstream, so there is a pretty big diff. However, this new release supports gtksourceview2 (the previous one uses the obsolete gtksourceview1 [1], which has been removed from Debian [2]). It has been successfully been built on all architectures in Debian, and migrated to testing [3]. I believe the bug fixed by the Ubuntu-specific patch has been fixed in Debian as well [4]. [Bug 530305] Re: [OCaml 3.11.2 transition][round 5/6] Please sync packages involved in OCaml transition from Debian (sid) to lucid (universe)
I've just added ocaml-batteries (0.20090405+beta1-5 - 1.1.0-1). The version currently in lucid was a beta release, and the upstream project changed quite a bit since then. That's why this version has been removed from squeeze [1]. There has been a new upstream release since them, that has been uploaded to sid yesterday. Currently, it has been built on all architectures that exist in Ubuntu [2]. I think that the package should be either synced or removed from Lucid before the beta1 freeze. [Bug 527627] Re: [OCaml 3.11.2 transition][round 4/6] Please rebuild packages involved in OCaml transition (universe)
There was a bug in the generation of dependencies of gmetadom [1], which has been fixed in 0.2.6-5. Sync has been requested [2], but not yet performed. The bug made gmetadom not appear in the monitoring page. lablgtkmathview needs to be rebuilt after gmetadom. Then, I hereby request a freeze exception for jocaml. This new upstream version is merely a port to the new version of ocaml. The current version doesn't work with OCaml 3.11.2. It has been built successfully on all architectures on Debian (sid) [1]. [Bug 522363] Re: [OCaml 3.11.2 transition][round 2/6] Please rebuild packages involved in OCaml transition
This is taking much more time than I was expecting. This round started one week ago, and there are rebuilds still not scheduled. I know Ubuntu people are busy with preparing the next release, but there are currently 102 packages related to this transition that are not installable, so I guess having this transition completed should also have some priority. I already volunteered to give instructions to perform this transition smoothly... I don't know what more I can do, not being an Ubuntu developer. FYI, the progress of this transition can be seen on: http://bentobako.org/ubuntu-ocaml-status/transition_monitor/ocaml_transition_monitor.html http://bentobako.org/ubuntu-ocaml-status/transition_monitor/ports_transition_monitor.html I am waiting for at least findlib (which has a lot of reverse dependencies) to be recompiled before proceeding with next rounds. -- [OCaml 3.11.2 transition][round 2/6] Please rebuild packages involved in OCaml transition https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/522363 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 519199] Sync ocaml 3.11.2-1 (main) from Debian sid (main)
Michael Bienia a écrit : As FeatureFreeze is already next week will this transition be finished till then? Or will some FF exceptions be needed? The transition won't probably be finished by next week in Debian, but OCaml 3.11.2 will most likely be part of Squeeze. This transition should be uneventful and can be handled quite quickly if buildds/uploaders keep up. You can see the progress in Debian at: http://debian.glondu.net/monitor/ocaml/ocaml_transition_monitor.html If that's the case talking to the release managers would probably be helpful. Please do, and put me in CC. [Bug 519199] [NEW] Sync ocaml 3.11.2-1 (main) from Debian sid (main)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ocaml Please sync ocaml 3.11.2-1 (main) from Debian sid (main) Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped: The Ubuntu patch has been merged upstream. The transition to the new upstream version of OCaml (3.11.2) has started in Debian. I recommend doing it at the same time in Ubuntu, instead of automatically importing when everything is in testing (which will most likely cause headaches because of the mix of packages sourcefully uploaded and binNMU'ed). Progress of this transition can be monitored at the following addresses: http://bentobako.org/ubuntu-ocaml-status/transition_monitor/ocaml_transition_monitor.html http://bentobako.org/ubuntu-ocaml-status/transition_monitor/ports_transition_monitor.html I (or David, maybe) will submit more bug reports as the transition goes.
