Same problem here. Here is the output of ddcprobe on my MacBook. Same problem here on a a MacBook. 1st display: 1280x800, work perfectly with the 'intel' driver. 2nd display: should be 1680x1050 but is cloned (and resolution is 1280x800 too) from the first display.
