[Bug 1736975] Re: netplan does not bring up anonymous bridge on boot
I an using Ubuntu Server as a KVM-host, relying on multiple anonymous bridges, and am suffering from this bug under 18.04. For others needing a workaround: I do configure the bridges with netplan.io as usual and bring up the bridges by defining in file /etc/systemd/network/10-netplan-brUp.network -- [Match] Name=brLAN* Name=brDMZ* [Network] LinkLocalAddressing=no ConfigureWithoutCarrier=true -- bringing up multiple bridges following the naming scheme brLAN0, brLAN1, ... , brDMZ0, brDMZ1, ... I do prefer this solution over some other workarounds using systemd service files or others, that I found on the net. Maybe this helps... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1736975 Title: netplan does not bring up anonymous bridge on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/netplan/+bug/1736975/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1770082] Re: systemd-networkd not renaming devices on boot
I was struggling with this for quite some time and played around using netplan.io and not using it. I figured out that you need to run "update- initramfs -u" to make settings persist reboots in "/etc/systemd/network/" when not using netplan.io. But netplan.io saves the configuration in "/run/systemd/network/". Here the update of initramfs does not make any difference and on boot the network set-up fails to rename the interfaces as configured with all consequences for the system. To me it appears that "update-initramfs" needs to include the generated configuration from netplan.io to get the network configuration correct on reboot. The following workaround does the job for me after every configuration change in netplan.io: 1. netplan apply 2. rm /etc/systemd/network/10-netplan-*.link 3. cp /run/systemd/network/10-netplan-*.link /etc/systemd/network/ 4. update-initramfs -u Now the generated link files are found by update-initrd. Never the less there should be a consistent solution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770082 Title: systemd-networkd not renaming devices on boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/netplan/+bug/1770082/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1535008] Re: HP Spectre x360 map keyboard events on switching laptop- to tablet-mode by default
I am not sure if this is the right or only package package if dealing with this sort of hardware support issue but as far as I do understand right now udev is hanling the assighment under systemd, esp if the keys need to be present in X. ** Package changed: ubuntu => udev (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1535008 Title: HP Spectre x360 map keyboard events on switching laptop- to tablet- mode by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/1535008/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1535008] [NEW] HP Spectre x360 map keyboard events on switching laptop- to tablet-mode by default
Public bug reported: The HP Spectre x360 13-4105ng is a Convertible Laptop being able flip the Display/Lid over so it can be used as a tablet. When changing the mode to "tablet" (fliping the lid to the bottom side) the Keyboard is deacticated and this is revesed on switching the mode back. Perfect. To have the user experience probably expected we are missing several functions like screen flip, switching the touchpad off, etc. Not the issue here as this can be scripted easily. The problem is that I fail to hook into the events. Expectation: Having these events mapped to suitable key peresses by default. Description: When the screen is tipped over to the bottom (entering tablet mode) syslog shows key press events: Jan 8 18:51:16 hp-spectre kernel: [150865.472396] atkbd serio0: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0xd8 on isa0060/serio0). These events need to be accessible in Unity, so you are able to call scripts to do the tasks required for the event. I di try to use setkeycode and failed to have these keypress events available in X. After reading some doumentation, e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Map_scancodes_to_keycodes I did end up with an attempt to create a file "/etc/udev/hwdb.d/70-hp- spectre-x360-convertible.hwdb" containing: -%< #evdev:name::dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svn*:pn* evdev:input:b0011v0001p0001eab38* KEYBOARD_KEY_d7=prog1 # enter laptop mode KEYBOARD_KEY_d8=prog2 # enter tablet mode -%< Running # udevadm hwdb --update # udevadm trigger But I did not manage to get these Keys to be mapped, so I could use it for assigning keypress events in Unity.
