[Bug 159354] Kopete archives icons inline

2007-11-01 Thread Ted Treadwell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kopete

When the user archives a Kopete chat via Chat - Save, it generates an
HTML file that repeatedly includes the same user icon images encoded
inline for every message, causing the file size to be very large, for
example:

div class=IncomingBody
div class=IncomingBody1
div class=IncomingBody2
div class=inUserPicture

img width=46 height=46
src=data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoNSUhEUgAAAGQAAABkCAIAAAD/gAIDAAAgAElEQVR4nLy8WZMl15Em5stZIu...

The binary is one of two small icons that occurs before every message
and adds about 21 Kb to the archive for each message. The file size can
grow large, for example 6 Mb for a 1.5 hour chat.

These images could be stored much more efficiently using stylesheets, as
is already used for some other images shown on the same page.

[Bug 147458] Kopete does not connect to Yahoo in live session

2007-09-30 Thread Ted Treadwell
Public bug reported:

[Bug 139984] Kopete does not detect keyboard activity

2007-09-16 Thread Ted Treadwell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kopete

Set Kopete set to become away after 5 minutes of user inactivity. While
typing and chatting on Kopete, after 5 minutes a message appears in chat
window You are now marked as Idle. If the mouse is moved it resets
the status to Online. Apparently it is using only the mouse to detect
user activity. It should detect both mouse and keyboard activity,
similar to the KDE screensaver.

[Bug 48077] Re: Running nvidia-glx-config enable breaks X.

Confirmed on Kubuntu Feisty 20070417, AMD64 version. Same behavior that
others have described. In my case the correct BusID is PCI:0:5:0 but
nvidia-glx-config changed it to PCI:1:5:0 and broke X. I had to fix
it by hand.

[Bug 84717] Re: SRU: updates necessary for Kubuntu Upgrade Tool in Edgy

2007-03-25 Thread Ted Treadwell
It worked for me with mostly minor problems. Had the following issues:

Synaptics touchpad virtual scrolling does not work correctly
Clock configuration was changed
Panel icons placed in center of bottom toolbar (see pic)
Kontact calendar appointment was lost
Kontact To Do item was duplicated

Details:
Did a fresh Kubuntu 6.10 install on HP ze4325us laptop and installed updates.
Installed some typical user things such as Firefox, Flash 9, Gimp, customized
the desktop a little, configured Kontact, Amarok, and Kopete.

The upgrade tool worked almost perfectly except I did get an error
message during the cleanup phase: E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned
an error code(1). Note, when I clicked the Report Bug button, it began
to start Konqueror but it never successfully launched. The upgrade took
about 2 hours, and preserved correctly the Firefox bookmarks, Kontact
mail store, contacts, Amarok collection, and Kopete configuration.

The most serious problem was the Synaptics touchpad virtual scrolling.
With 6.10 and 7.04 Live CDs it has always configured perfectly, but
after the 7.04 upgrade it seems to be not calibrated correctly.

Before the upgrade I had configured the clock to display seconds. After
the upgrade the seconds were gone and it changed to digital clock type.

The screenshot shows the displaced panel icons. Note, the Debian
background is what I selected before the upgrade and was preserved
correctly.

[Bug 77873] Speedcrunch segfault after equal, backspace, evaluate, operator

2007-01-03 Thread Ted Treadwell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: speedcrunch

To reproduce:
1. Enter an expression, for example 4+5 followed by =
2. Type backspace or click - to erase the =
3. Click Evaluate to solve the expression normally
4. Click operator key such as +

Expect it to start a new expression using answer from previous
calculation. Instead SpeedCrunch crashes and terminates.

Using SpeedCrunch 0.7~060412-0ubuntu5 on Kubuntu 6.10 Edgy AMD64
version.

[Bug 67863] Automounted optical drive contents do not show until reload

2006-11-02 Thread Ted Treadwell
Public bug reported:

Insert DVD or CD, choose Open in New Window, drive is mounted at
/media/cdromn, Konqueror opens but contents of disc do not display
until Reload button is clicked. Problem does not occur on the first
disc insertion after bootup. Eject and reinsert disc, and problem
occurs.

Tested on Kubuntu Edgy RC1 on two machines: AMD64 and i386. Tried
several discs also: data and video DVDs and a data CD. Same symptoms on
all machine/disc combinations.

Note, on Dapper problem does not happen, and Konqueror URL is
system:/media/hdc instead of /media/cdromn used in Edgy.

[Bug 64738] Re: New To-dos are duplicated. (duplicate resources entries)

2006-10-25 Thread Ted Treadwell
I can confirm this also, on Kubuntu Edgy RC i386.

Add new task, click Apply - get dialog box Resource Selection -
Kontact with 2 choices, both say Default KOrganizer resource. Task
gets added twice. Same thing happens with new Calendar entry.

Problem only occurs on my Edgy i386 installation on a laptop. Don't see
it with Edgy AMD64 on desktop.
