I have 3 USB ports out of which one of the ports doesn't work anymore. Other 2 USB port works fine through which I use external devices like pendrive and hard disk sometimes when needed. About the touchscreen, it works/responds fine. Is there something wrong with my touchscreen? [Bug 1926117] [NEW] Please update the old MPV package which has Wayland fixes for Ubuntu 21.04.
Public bug reported: VLC was updated but MPV was not in this new release. MPV v0.33.0 was a major release that contained a lot of features and fixes that appears on GNOME Wayland. I thought Ubuntu 21.04 release would include a new updated package but sadly it was not the case for MPV. Now that Wayland is enabled by default, updating the MPV package is really important. All the changelogs are mentioned here: https://github.com/mpv- player/mpv/releases Out of many other fixes, these two are important for Ubuntu 21.04 users: - X11: add an option to make the window appear on a specific workspace - Wayland: expose Wayland-app-id as a user option One of the annoying issues I currently face with the old v0.32.0 release is that, the screen locked according to the display timeout setting when trying to watch the video. Q. Are you using Xorg or Wayland? ans: I am using Wayland. Q. The bug report tag says Wayland, but you filed it under Xorg? ans: Because typing "ubuntu-bug" in terminal will launch Apport which default shows an option "Display(X.org)", not "Display(Wayland.org)" regradless of what actually user is using. This create a confusion and probably select xorg package Xorg on this website. We need to fix Apport to recognize what user is actually using while showing its option. Q. [Bug 1896333] [NEW] "Select an audio" menu when user have not even inserted headphone jack.
Public bug reported: GNOME 3.36.3 | Ubuntu 20.04.1 It has been a month and I have been experiencing this weird behavior. Earphone option like this 3 while unlocking the laptop as if I have inserted earphones. Some details this issue: I have to wait like 10 min or so after the lock of the screen. This will trigger something and when I open the lid or touch mouse pad to unlock, I get earphone options to chooose in the screen as if I have inserted headphone jack. Something is wrong. I want to know why. This didn't used to happen a month ago. I waited a month to report this issue thinking it will get resolved in upcoming updates but sadly no changes so far. I think some Ubuntu's GNOME update might have something to do this. This is my wild guess. But very certain about it. Let me know. Although the issue might seems really small issue but very annoying to go throw this EVERYDAY. I would love to know what is causing this? When its fixed? Is there something wrong on my side? Note: This happens ONLY when I try to unlock the screen after like >10 min or so. Still not fixed for me either. Latest beta, i7 640-LM, OCZ Vertex 2 SSD. My session is a bit special, I don't start a normal gnome. It looks like this: florian@hermione ~ % cat /usr/share/xsessions/compiler.desktop [Desktop Entry] Name=Compiler Comment=AWN and compiz Exec=gnome-session --session=compiler TryExec=gnome-session Icon= Type=Application X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain=gnome-session-2.0 florian@hermione ~ % cat /usr/share/gnome-session/sessions/compiler.session [GNOME Session] Name=Ubuntu Required=windowmanager;panel; Required-windowmanager=compiz Required-panel=avant-window-navigator DefaultApps=gnome-settings-daemon; mb21, anything like this applies to you as well? Also, when I'm in the session, I cannot kill the original gnome-settings-daemon with a SIGTERM, only a SIGKILL seems to do something... Also, for some reason, it does not happen when I use a self-baked zen kernel. [Bug 649809] Re: the session settings manager can try starting before the login screen one exits
Rodrigo, for me, the sleep-workaround didn't help in any way, either (even with sleep 5 or sleep 10). And I'm on the fast end :) As said, for me, gdm's gnome-settings-daemon seems to actually hang after I'm logging in. Still seems to be some kind of a race condition, as this only happens maybe 1 in 15 times or so.
