[Bug 194214] Re: Keys get stuck down

[Bug 194214] Re: Keys get stuck down
This bug has re-appeared in Lucid. It seems to correspond to high CPU usage. Beyond that, I am not an expert on these things, but am happy to help if possible. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Released = Confirmed -- Keys get stuck down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for the workaround! Re: [Bug 194214] Re: Keys get stuck down
Here it is: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a Linux ambrose 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Feb 12 07:42:25 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux TuxFan wrote: Theodore: as I said in the mentioned bug #122118 I'm using Gutsy too without problems with the kernel version 2.6.22-14.52 of linux- image-2.6.22-14-generic. What's your kernel? Comments on bug #124406 seem to support my guess that this is a kernel bug (starting from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/124406/comments/3). And that it was fixed in some version and has come back in some other version: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/124406/comments/74 -- Keys get stuck down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 34501] Re: touchpad lockup/drag
As I mentioned earlier, I experience this bug, which always appears together with the keyboard bug #194214 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/194214). In my case, the bug appears when I activate the Broadcom 43xx firmware in the restricted drivers dialog, and goes away when I disable it. Has anyone else experienced these two bugs together? PS: The consensus on the 194214 bug seems to be that it is a kernel problem - it seems like these could be two manifestations of the same thing. -- touchpad lockup/drag https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/34501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 194214] Re: Keys get stuck down
In response to Tuxfan's comment, I am still using Gutsy, and have the bug. As I mentioned in one of the bugs now marked as a duplicate, the bug appeared when I upgraded to Gutsy, and is associated with the use of the Broadcom 43xx firmware support through the restricted drivers manager. When the firmware is enabled, I experience the bug, when it is disabled, I do not. -- Keys get stuck down https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat (Feisty, Gutsy)
After several months, I can say that this bug has not reappeared since I disabled the Broadcom 43xx firmware. Have others noticed that connection? [Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat (Feisty, Gutsy)
In order to fix the mouse bug, I removed the Broadcom 43xx firmware. This fixed the both that problem and this one (although it cost me wireless) I think using ndiswrapper in place of the 43xx firmware cutter might solve the problem. [Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat (Feisty, Gutsy)
Is there any chance that we will get a fix / workaround that doesn't involve installing an alpha kernel that might be incompatible with other parts of the OS? [Bug 28648] Input problems on Gutsy Upgrade
Upon upgrading to gutsy, I had similar problems - the mouse cursor jumps around at times as though acceleration were set much too high; the scroll on the touch pad no longer works; selecting by tapping on the touchpad (eg. to drag) no longer works. At times there seem to be other strange effects. Definitely not it just works. [Bug 28648] More notes
Sorry to put so many notes onto the bug, but I had a few other (unfortunate) observations. With the new settings (as before) the pointer occasionally hangs for a few seconds, or jerks wildly. Also, occasionally, and without any clear reason, it sometimes switches from being extremely responsive to being very slow. I know it sounds like a hardware problem, but since it began when I switched to gutsy, I am assuming it is software. -- Slow movement regression of synaptics touchpad on v0.14.3+seriouslythistime https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/28648 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
