[Bug 1961108] [NEW] network options greyed out in paprefs

2022-02-16 Thread Thomas Boehm
Public bug reported:

I installed Kubuntu 21.10 which comes with pulseaudio
1:15.0+dfsg1-1ubuntu2.2. When I start paprefs all network options are
greyed out. The problem seems to be, that the directory with the modules
is called /usr/lib/pulse-15.0+dfsg1, but paprefs expects the modules in
/usr/lib/pulse-15.0

$ strace paprefs 2>&1 |grep /lib/pulse
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-esound-protocol-tcp.so", F_OK) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-native-protocol-tcp.so", F_OK) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-zeroconf-publish.so", F_OK) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-zeroconf-discover.so", F_OK) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-raop-discover.so", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT
(No such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-rtp-recv.so", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-rtp-send.so", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No
such file or directory)
access("/usr/lib/pulse-15.0/modules/module-rygel-media-server.so", F_OK) = -1
ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Creating a symlink /usr/lib/pulse-15.0 solves the problem

[Bug 1818816] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS + "lspci: Cannot open /sys/bus No such file" on Dell 5820 Tower

2019-03-06 Thread Thomas Boehm
Can you try to boot the previous kernel 4.15.0-45-generic?

I have a (different?) problem with 4.15.0-46-generic and nvivia-384. In
my case lightdm won't start. Reverting back to 4.15.0-45-generic
"solved" it for me.

[Bug 1623603] [NEW] display stays on tty1 on timed login

2016-09-14 Thread Thomas Boehm
Public bug reported:

I have setup timed login for one user. I can see the thin white progress
bar under the user's name on the login screen. When the timer finishes,
the display stays on tty1. If I press CTRL+ALT+F2 it switches to tty2
and the login process continues.

Just crashed again.

I don't know how many different bugs there are, my crash has the same
command line like the OP. Here's the _usr_bin_gjs-console.1000.crash

I don't know what the procedure for "backporting" is, but maybe it could
be backported first.

The reason you didn't get any confirmation might be that none of the
people here use Quantal. At least that's what it looks like when reading
all comments. If this problem would be solved for precise I bet you
would get half a dozen confirmations within one day.

[Bug 341898] Re: MythTV Frontend does not work with RADEON DRI

I just tried the same on the master backend server in my network and
there it doesn't work. It has a ATI Radeon X300SE in it.

[Bug 341898] Re: MythTV Frontend does not work with RADEON DRI

2009-06-09 Thread Thomas Boehm
I can confirm that export XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS="1" works for me.

However, I found out two other "workarounds". When I install xorg-
driver-fglrx after logging in and neither restart nor run "aticonfig
--initial" Mythtv runs perfectly. Of course I need to uninstall the
fglrx driver before restarting the X-Server as my X1650 is not supported
by ATI any more :-(

The second workaround which works most of the time is to start the
frontend as one user, let the black box as is on the desktop, switch to
another user and start the frontend again.

Maybe it helps to find the real problem...
