[Bug 964415] Re: Please sync from Debian to get security fix
* A description of the proposed changes, with sufficient detail to estimate their potential impact on the distribution When connecting to the key information server, to check whether a GPG software-signing key should be trusted, 0install asks Python to check that the server has a valid HTTPS certificate. However, Python's certificate validator does not check that the certificate presented is for the site requested. Therefore, an attacker with a valid X.509 certificate for another site can impersonate the key information server. 0install 1.6 contains a fix for this (doing the validation itself). * A rationale for the exception, explaining the benefit of the change A release should not go out with a known security flaw. * Any additional information which would be helpful in considering the decision The changes between 1.4.1 and 1.6 are quite minor (mostly bug-fixes). A PPA package of 1.6 for precise is here: https://launchpad.net/~talex5/+archive/0install This PPA is a direct import from Debian (it does not contain the patch for bug #953756). Ah, you're right. 1. I installed precise from a recent snapshot, upgraded, and installed PackageKit. It failed using zeroinstall-injector 1.4.1-1 but worked with 1.4.1-2. 2. I removed PackageKit and installed python-aptdaemon.pkcompat. Then it fails. [Bug 336317] Re: [FFe][jaunty] Please sync zeroinstall-injector 0.39 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)
Was a work-around for a problem with Python 2.5's distutils, I think. Looks like it's not needed with Python 2.6. The attached patch should fix it (while still supporting 2.5 if necessary). [Bug 336317] Re: Update notification doesn't work in Jaunty
Requesting a freeze exception, as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FreezeExceptionProcess. Proposed changes: Update to 0.39, since the version currently in Jaunty doesn't work (throws an exception when checking for updates due to removal of the actions feature from the notification service). The changes between 0.37 and 0.39 are mainly bug-fixes. The release notes can be found here: http://gnomefiles.org/version.php?soft_id=921 Non-bug-fix changes affecting Ubuntu in 0.38 and 0.39 are: - New Swedish translation. - New --message option to display a message in the window. - New audit command for verifying all packages at once. There are no rdepends on this package. The package has been tested using Jaunty by running the program's test- gui test suite. This fails with the current 0.37 version, and passes with Debian's 0.39. https://zero-install.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/zero-install/trunk /test-gui If you need more information, please ask. -- Update notification doesn't work in Jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 55739] Re: No more mouse events after using rdesktop
I'm having this problem several times a day since upgrading to 8.10 (all previous versions were OK). I use focus-follows-mouse and two screens. Window manager is Ion 3. I mainly run Firefox, Evolution, xterm and Vim. The mouse moves and the keyword works fine (including changing focus), but clicking the mouse has no effect and the focus doesn't change as the mouse moves. Looks a lot like as if someone has a pointer grab. I have tried killing off X clients from an xterm, but nothing seems to help reliably. I can't switch to VT1 with 8.10 (it's just blank). Control usually returns eventually. Restarting the window manager works sometimes but not always. Running xkill (as suggested here) seemed to fix it once (will try again next time it happens to see if it's repeatable). -- No more mouse events after using rdesktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/55739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 163341] Re: git-svn gets wrong parent revision for tags
Try: git-svn clone https://zero-install.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/zero- install -T trunk/0publish -r1890:2072 -b releases/0publish git-svn version 1.5.2.5 (svn 1.4.4) Go into the created 'zero-install' directory and run: gitk --all As you can see, the git branch comes from r1894, yet the svn log shows that in includes files from r2070: svn log https://zero-install.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/zero-install -r2071 -v My patch is not correct in all cases, since it is possible to create a branch from an earlier revision than HEAD (probably it should find the newest source version rather than the oldest). However, the current code seems worse since in fails to cope with the normal case. (the problem of getting the correct branch point is probably unsolvable in the most general case, since a branch may even come from a mixture of different revisions, although I doubt anyone does that intentionally) -- git-svn gets wrong parent revision for tags https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163341 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 191958] [NEW] xdg-desktop-menu install requires a logout the first time
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xdg-utils When installing a new application for the first time, the new menu entry doesn't appear immediately. You have to log out and log back in again. However, installing further applications works fine. To reproduce (on a clean Gutsy system): 1. Create a new user: $ sudo adduser bob 2. Log in as bob 3. Install the sample .desktop file: $ xdg-desktop-menu install test-test.desktop 4. Notice that no entry appears in the Applications-Accessories menu. 5. Log out and log back in again. 6. Menu item is now visible. From this point on, any further programs added show up immediately. [Bug 163341] git-svn gets wrong parent revision for tags
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: git-core When converting a subversion repository to GIT using git-svn, the svn tags do not have the right parent.
