[Bug 35223] Re: Laptop TFT monitor - brightness level is not saved
Laszlo, I re-enabled 3d Unity on my system to test whether recent patches might have fixed the gpu problems I was having. For now 3D Unity seems to be working again. I do not know why but your brightness settings script worked fine in the 3D mode and my Toshiba L300D now remembers the settings. [Bug 35223] Re: Laptop TFT monitor - brightness level is not saved
Laslo, tried the script on my Toshiba L300D laptop but no joy. I don't think it's the script though. I have to run acpi_osi= on the linux line of grub to get my fans to work which disables acpi and thus, the script. [Bug 670707] Re: Toshiba L300D laptop overheats if in anything else but Powersave mode.
My L300D fan will not work unless I add the acpi_osi= code to grub when I boot. The other way I get the fan working is to start up and then suspend which is a little better because most of the acpi functionality is retained. It's a work around and good enough to get the hardware working but now the issue I am having is that when the system gets loaded down and the temps get high, the wifi disconnects. It's happening more frequently these days. Not sure if these issues are related. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/670707 Title: Toshiba L300D laptop overheats if in anything else but Powersave mode. [Bug 745836] Re: soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in cppu::throwException()
I can easily reproduce this problem on my Toshiba L300D laptop. I am running Maverick with ecryptfs home directory. I just have to put the original 1GB RAM in, launch Ubuntu and OOo and then work with memory intensive applications. This causes swap to populate and then any action to any open OOo documents that are open will cause OOo to crash. It it much harder to force it to crash with 4GB of RAM so for now, that is my work-around. These crashes apparently affect both OOo and Libre the same. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745836 Title: soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in cppu::throwException() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/df-libreoffice/+bug/745836/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 745836] Re: soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV in cppu::throwException()
In an attempt to work around this OOo crash problem I maxed out my system's RAM so it no longer needs swap memory. I have had no further crashes regardless of how long documents and spread sheets are left open. I believe that this is strong evidence that the failure is caused once data is moved from RAM to swap memory space. I did do a rather unscientific query to see if this problem exists on other distro's i.e. SUSE, Fedora etc. but did not find a similar bug report which leads me to believe that this issue is Ubuntu specific.
[Bug 709378] Re: Tomboy fails to sync after editing note via web: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.
Hello Roman / all, Thanks for working this. Tested creating notes on U1 and they sync fine now both from and to the server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709378 Title: Tomboy fails to sync after editing note via web: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 709378] Re: Tomboy fails to sync after editing note via web: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.
I too was able to get sync working after removing all the notes from the ./local/share/tomboy folder. Since everything was looking good I went to U1, and created a note. The first thing strange was that U1 created 2 notes identical notes rather than one. I deleted one of them. Then I tried to synch tomboy with U1. It failed to sync. I went back to U1, deleted the recently created note and can now sync again. Bottom Line: Notes created on my U1 account break tomboy and cannot create notes on the server anymore; a facility that worked prior to this problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709378 Title: Tomboy fails to sync after editing note via web: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 579966] Re: OpenOffice crashes with high frequency
Subscribing. I have a similar problem with OOo 3.2 crashing after documents have been open for an extended period of time. Using Maverick on a laptop with an ecryptfs home directory. Noticed the problem after adding several OOo extensions but have not been able to verify that extensions are responsible for the behavior noted. I have experienced crash problems attempting to shut down OOo with no documents open and OOo running which brings up the recovery dialog with no documents shown to recover. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/579966 Title: OpenOffice crashes with high frequency -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 709378] Re: Tomboy fails to sync after editing note via web: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.
I opened an identical bug #709995 yesterday. Same problem as above [[ERROR]: Synchronization failed with the following exception: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.]. I am running AMD processor Turion 64 and Ubuntu 10.10 i386. Filed similar/identical debug log for tomboy and can confirm this issue. I did not think to mention in my bug report that I too had made changes and edits to notes on the Ubuntu One site prior to the advent of the problem. I have tried everything I could find to clear the problem including removing my computer from U1 and setting up tomboy synchronization anew but notes will not synch apparently due to the invalid DateTime issue, something I could not confirm in my review of notes downloaded with the ubuntuone-couchdb- query script as dates appeared to be both consistent and correct. U1 synch daemon *seen via u1sdtool does not specifically show tomboy but I don't think it needs to as I believe that notes are a server side include. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709378 Title: Tomboy fails to sync after editing note via web: String was not recognized as a valid DateTime. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 709995] [NEW] Tomboy will not synch to ubuntu one
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: tomboy Tomboy notes V 1.4.2 running on Ubuntu 10.10 stopped synching with Ubuntu One.
