[Bug 907149] Re: icon in nautilus only one plain

2012-01-10 Thread TiloBunt
today again,

might be related to this issue?

(gnome-settings-daemon:1666): Gdk-WARNING **: The program
'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 1437 error_code 8 request_code 3 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

Initializing scale options...done

[Bug 501554] [NEW] No warning for browser upload if files not exist

2009-12-29 Thread TiloBunt
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

E.g. use Gmail (also tried with other upload form GMX) and add an
attachment - Browse - use type in Filename enter in the Location
text field something which doesn't exist like blablabla.jpg hit enter
and when you send this email you don't get any warning or so that it
doesn't exist. On GMX it upload a 0.0 KB file.

Appreciate a warning if file doesn't exist. (not sure if this is nautilus or
something)
Thanks

[Bug 193970] Re: iwl3945 | iwl4965: Wireless can't be activated after disabling kill switch

2009-04-06 Thread TiloBunt
Workaround for Acer Notebook user

to enable the wireless by configuring the file /etc/modprobe.d/options

Please follow this procedure:

Step 1: Open Terminal from Applications-Accessories-
Terminal

Step 2: Run the following command (copy-paste the line below to the
Terminal then hit enter)

Code:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/options

# add the following 2 lines to the end of the options file

Code:

options iwl3945 disable=0
options acer-wmi wireless=1

Step 3: Reboot pc and then retest the wireless

credit for this solution goes to Mark Rijckenberg , from this thread

[Bug 271258] Re: gspca's module fails on 2.6.27-3-generic on Intrepid

2009-03-31 Thread TiloBunt
I agree on Sam's comment.

Can get really frustrated for new Ubuntu user's.
May it's possible to show easily/automatic on boot up errors? Or if the
application hang during start up I can display log with key xy. (and this key
combination get's displayed during the boot screen like BIOS press F12 or
whatever)
Just a suggestion but for me this was a disappointed experience with Ubuntu and
guess many people are not so patient to search for a solution online. (what's
also very hard without a error log =)

So I encourage severity increased.
