Synaptic Package Manager still errors out and won't work. I've tried: 1. uninstall reinstall 2. upgrade 3. chasing down the package list The error is always: E: The value 'natty-updates' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is not available in the sources E: _cache-open() failed. please report My version is oneida. all the packages are oneida. I have discovered muon package manager which works. I have also discovered aptitude package manager which works. Now this is not the only problem I have with this copy of ubuntu 11:10. Compaq Presario desktop using ubuntu 10.04 LTS with no ACPI installed. Same problem with messages.log maxed out. The continual logging bogs the system. If I edit the startup to include acpi=off or pci=noacpi, the error stops logging, but NAT won't connect to the internet via eth0.
