[Bug 1901089] Re: Ubuntu kernels 5.4.0-51 and 5.4.0-52 break ir-keytable loading
Looks like the bug I just added at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1932360 is a duplicate of this which I didn't find in any searches before I added it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1901089 Title: Ubuntu kernels 5.4.0-51 and 5.4.0-52 break ir-keytable loading To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1901089/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1932360] [NEW] IR receiver broken by 5.8.0-55, worked in -48
Public bug reported: On intel nuc used as media server running ubuntu 20.04, the IR remote broke in kernel 5.8.0-55. Running ir-keytable -t shows that a single IR button press spews key down codes forever, and never does a key up. Going back to kernel 5.8.0-48 makes the remote work properly again. [Bug 1909134] Re: pronterface fails when talking to network printer

[Bug 1851383] Re: disk format hang during install of 19.10 in KVM virtual machine
Don't know what I managed to screw up in the previous experiment, but I just tried again and I can install a working virtual machine by first formatting the virtual disk, then telling the installer to use the partition without reformatting. I used the system rescue CD iso and gparted this time rather than gnome-disks, maybe it likes gparted created partitions better. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851383 Title: disk format hang during install of 19.10 in KVM virtual machine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1851383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1851383] Re: disk format hang during install of 19.10 in KVM virtual machine
Just tried a new experiment: I attached the new qcow2 image to a different virtual machine, used gnome-disks to create a MSDOS partition table, one large ext4 partition and a small swap area, then detached the image from that VM and used it for the install of the new ubuntu 19.10 virtual machine. I selected custom disk configuration and just told it to install on the existing ext4 partition, mounting it as /. It appeared to install correctly (with one mysterious error about not being able to restore previously installed apps). It is however, now taking forever to boot from the virtual disk. I just get animated dots under the word "ubuntu". If I hit ESC it appears to have advanced one or two steps each time, but it is almost like it will only advance the boot if I keep hitting ESC over and over. Or perhaps it is in a loop desperately trying to start GDM over and over on a virtual display which probably doesn't support wayland.
[Bug 1851383] [NEW] disk format hang during install of 19.10 in KVM virtual machine
Public bug reported: I'm trying to install a KVM virtual machine using the ubuntu 19.10 live iso. It always gets as far as the step where it is going to format the blank disk (in this case a newly created qcow2 image with a 20G size limit). I then see the virtual machine go to 100% cpu usage and the installer goes completely unresponsive. I've tried this on a centos 7 host and a fedora 31 host with the same result on both. I've tried telling it to let me customise the partitions and letting it automatically create partitions with the same result - 100% cpu loop and hung unresponsive interface (sometimes a black screen, sometimes the partition tool, but not responding). The specific iso file is ubuntu-19.10-desktop-amd64.iso. I've checked the checksums and verified the signature, so it doesn't seem to be corrupted. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851383 Title: disk format hang during install of 19.10 in KVM virtual machine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1851383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1343003] [NEW] Text scaling 1 truncates labels in system settings app
Public bug reported: I have a UHD monitor, and I used the Display setting to bump text scaling up to 1.5. The top level system settings app with icons for all the individual settings now uses the new text size, but truncates all the labels because it refuses to resize. In fact, it won't let me grab a corner and manually resize. [Bug 385539] Re: [karmic] When running compiz, wallpaper is not displayed
I also see this problem with my radeon 9200, as well as other minor rendering problems even with compiz turned off. For instance, if I run synaptic, click on a package to install, I get the popup menu of install options. The icons that normally show up in front of each menu item aren't there.
