[Bug 1211110] Re: network manager openvpn dns push data not updating system DNS addresses

2016-07-11 Thread Tomodachi
I can confirm that this is a bug on Ubuntu 16.04.

I'm also responsible for the VPN server in our company so I can do all the
necessary debugging if want something verified.

We push 2 DNS servers along with the proper search domain to all clients.
this works for other operating systems like Fedora (also using network manager)
and OSX
so for me its clearly a bug client side in Ubuntu.

The bug is evident both on 16.04 and 14.04

we do NOT route all traffic through the VPN tunnel only VPN traffic.
Which is a common use case when you don't want to do the heavy lifting
of unrelated traffic for hundreds of simultaneous users.

[Bug 546393] Re: MacBook Pro 5, 1 / 5, 2 / 5, 3 / 5, 5 fails to boot into 12.04 desktop

2012-04-02 Thread Tomodachi
Im surprised to see MBP5.1 users having problems with booting into Ubuntu.
ive run ubuntu successfully for the last three releases when using the
proprietary nvidia driver

What usually messed things up for me was what card was selected in OSX as the
active card.
toggling this might be what gets you booted (my macbook has the 9600 and the
9400 nvidia card) into the installation.

Also , i run my macbook in efi mode nowdays, all works fine except that
one needs to add a more up to date backlight module

adding this to grub console will disable your 9600 card before booting
into your os and hence save battery.

[Bug 817979] Re: [bcm5974] annoying random freezes

2011-12-16 Thread Tomodachi
This is a problem , but I don't believe its because of the kernel module.
I was playing around last time this happened and noticed that

synclient |grep TouchpadOff
gives me
TouchpadOff = 1

enabling the touchpad manually made my mouse start working again.

in the mouse properties applet there is a checkbox disable touchpad while
typing
i believe that it sets the touchpadoff = 1
when one is typing, and enabled the touchpad once one stops typing.
Enabling it again apparently fails sometimes. I've unchecked the box.
And I no longer get this problem, could someone else verify this as well?

We need to move this bug to the correct package. Question is , which is
it?

[Bug 764051] Re: Second monitor useless in dual desktop mode

another reason we need to be able to run a separate X server. Is that

my problems is actually gone now. I believe I solved it by making sure

resuming)

now my screen is fine after resume!
maybe this helps some other efi booting pro user

[Bug 613848] [NEW] sdlmame segfauls when pressing f6

2010-08-05 Thread Tomodachi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sdlmame

this is true for :
Description:Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release:10.04
both 64 bit and 32 bit versions.

sdlmame 0.136-0ubuntu2

what I expected :I expect the cheat engine to enable

what happened : when pressing f6 within a game sdlmame crashes and gives
a segfault message on exit. its prefectly reproducable over multiple
neogeo roms ive atempted it on.

i think this happens because the cheat engine cant find any cheat files
once i configure a correct path to the cheat files and press f6. It works.
Of course it still shouldn't crash when unable to find the correct files.

2010-02-08 Thread Tomodachi
It´s been months without any real update. Is there something more we can do?
According to modinfo the author to applesmc is Nicolas Boichat. Has he even
been informed about this issue?

[Bug 153587] Re: [karmic] applesmc module refuses to load on iMac core 2 duo

2009-11-28 Thread Tomodachi
It´s still an issue unfortunately

m...@xerxes:/boot$ sudo modprobe -v applesmc
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.31-15-generic/updates/dkms/applesmc.ko
FATAL: Error inserting applesmc
(/lib/modules/2.6.31-15-generic/updates/dkms/applesmc.ko): No such device

I'm no kernel developer (or any kind of developer for the fact) but my theory
is that when i boot in efi mode
the hardware is presented somehow differently in my laptop, than when I'm
booting my macbook pro in compatibility mode (where the module actually loads)

Hence the module cant be matched to my running hardware configuration
in efi mode.

I believe that no kernel update will solve this since applesmc is a dkms module
meaning it doesn't come with regular new releases of the kernel but as a
separate package compiled against the runnig kernel. My dkms sources are still
the same version as before
.
Maybe we to get in contact with the maintainer of this module?

[Bug 380038] [NEW] cant bind keys with swedish characters

2009-05-24 Thread tomodachi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sdlmame

when i try to bind swedish keys on my keybord to something in the sdlmame
input - general - user interface
it doesent register the key being pressed.
I can reproduce this with åäö

package name is sdlmame , version 0.123-0ubuntu1
im running ubuntu 8.10

This wouldnt really be a problem if it wast for the case that the usb
adapter for my joystick uses some of these swedish keys so i cant use
some buttons on my joystick.

Please contact me if you need more intel

Kindest Regards
M
