[Bug 1532829] Re: OpenAFS backup fails because of "illegal volume name" *.backup
As a quick fix, I downloaded the source package, reversed patch CVE-2015-6587.patch and rebuilt. [Bug 996394] Re: package openafs-client 1.6.1-1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
I have been experiencing the same problem, when upgrading to openafs- client 1.6.1-1+ubuntu0.1. After some testing I found the reason: In /var/lib/dpkg/info/openafs-client.config, the statement read cell < /etc/openafs/ThisCell croaked, because there was no newline after the cell name in ThisCell. Thus, you can easily get around the problem by making sure that ThisCell has a newline (CR) after the cell name. Hope this helps. [Bug 316156] [NEW] DVD export doesn't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdenlive Hello, I'm using kdenlive 0.5.svn20071228-0.0ubuntu3 on Kubuntu 8.10. When I try to export anything to DVD, the (.vob) file gets created, the input files are read from the disk and the progress bar starts ticking until it reaches 99%. Then it stops, indefinitely, as it seems. The kdenlive_renderer process takes all the CPU, but nothing more happens. There is no disk activity at all at this stage, and the output (.vob) file is always empty. The behaviour is the same, regardless of wether I use the "Export to DVD" tool under the "File" menu, or if I use the "Render timeline" button in the toolbar. (I used kdenlive the same way under 7.04 (don't remember the kdenlive version of those days), and there the DVD export worked fine.) ** Affects: kdenlive (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- DVD export doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/316156 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 154910] acpi-support in conflict with guidance-power-manager
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: acpi-support I run Kubuntu 7.10 on a Toshiba laptop. I noticed that my laptop didn't suspend properly when I closed the lid. It usually went into 100% CPU usage in the X server. On the other hand, it suspended OK when doing it from the guidance- power-manager GUI, or even using the suspend button. I finally traced the problem to be that /etc/acpi/lid.sh wasn't told to back off, as the suspend is handled by guidance-power-manager. And, in turn, this is due to the fact that /usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs isn't aware about guidance-power-manager. The following patch shows what I did to solve it: --- /usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs.sv 2007-09-19 11:50:54.0 +0200 +++ /usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs2007-10-20 15:03:17.0 +0200 @@ -1,5 +1,6 @@ CheckPolicy() { if pidof gnome-power-manager kpowersave > /dev/null || + pidof -x guidance-power-manager.py > /dev/null || (pidof dcopserver > /dev/null && test -x /usr/bin/dcop && /usr/bin/dcop kded kded loadedModules | grep -q klaptopdaemon) ; then echo 0; else (Another annoying thing is that the DCOP command in this function fails if run by root.)
