[Bug 27014] Re: evolution bug, Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync

2009-06-23 Thread Tremaine Lea
@Ardhard - heh, no luck there. I've got over 150G free. I've actually
dropped Evolution in favour of Thunderbird for the time being as it
doesn't appear this is going to be resolved any time soon. That said,
I'll switch when they do - gpg signing in TB is a PITA.

[Bug 360667] Re: [8.10, Evolution] Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync

2009-05-22 Thread Tremaine Lea
Tried a few times now to just do a simple search for evolution summary
folder mismatch and their site seems to just time out after awhile. No
idea what the problem is there, but it makes it a bit hard to report a
bug - or at least report one without duplicating existing ones.

I've opened new bug, so feel free to add to it if you are also having
the summary folder mismatch error -

[Bug 360667] Re: [8.10, Evolution] Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync

2009-04-26 Thread Tremaine Lea
I have been having this issue for months now in Intrepid Ibex 8.10 x64

Linux quad 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 20:53:41 UTC 2009 x86_64

Currently before starting evolution I do the following:

evolution --force-shutdown

I have a quick script in /usr/local/bin/ I named cmetaibex.sh that is
simply:

rm *.cmeta;
rm *.ibex.*

I go into the various .evolution/mail/local/ subfolders and run this
script.

I then start evolution from the command line. Usually after less than
24 hours I get the 'Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync'
error, at which point I repeat the process. Take evolution into offline
mode, close it, run evolution --force-shutdown, run my cmetaibex.sh
script as described, and start it from the command line.

Output from evolution on the command line:

At this point I've logged in after a fresh boot, experienced the error,
opened deluge (deluged also crashes on launch, not sure if it relates),
opened evolution, and opened firefox. Nothing else aside from that.
I'd rebooted because firefox had stopped responding to clicking on links
in evolution. After closing firefox (3.0.7) I was unable to relaunch
it, so decided a reboot was in order.

2009-03-13 Thread Tremaine Lea
I am also experiencing this issue with x-session-manager taking 75% or
more of the CPU, and being unable to launch applications as a result.
Only restarting X brings things back to a usable state.

Running x86_64 Intrepid Ibex 8.10, completely current.

@quad:~$ uname -a
Linux quad 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64

With two terminal sessions, firefox and evolution open:

date ; lsof -p `ps -e | grep x-session | cut -d -f1` | grep ICE-unix | wc -l
Thu Mar 12 22:51:20 MDT 2009

After opening Amarok 1.4
date ; lsof -p `ps -e | grep x-session | cut -d -f1` | grep ICE-unix | wc -l
Thu Mar 12 22:52:09 MDT 2009

After pressing play in Amarok:
date ; lsof -p `ps -e | grep x-session | cut -d -f1` | grep ICE-unix | wc -l
Thu Mar 12 22:53:18 MDT 2009

With no further action on my part:
 date ; lsof -p `ps -e | grep x-session | cut -d -f1` | grep ICE-unix | wc -l

date ; lsof -p `ps -e | grep x-session | cut -d -f1` | grep ICE-unix | wc -l
Thu Mar 12 22:57:11 MDT 2009

I quit Amarok at this point.

[Bug 68187] Re: xine was unable to initialize any audio drivers. error

2009-01-12 Thread Tremaine Lea
Should this bug be closed while the error persists? quite likely not
doesn't indicate to me that it isn't. If it's genuinely confirmed that
the problem exists in something that is not Amarok, then a link to the
correct bug would be useful so ongoing issues can be tagged to it with
an indication that it impacts Amarok which apparently depends on it.

[Bug 68187] Re: xine was unable to initialize any audio drivers. error

2008-11-22 Thread Tremaine Lea
Yeah, I'm finding killing the process (at whichever run level) isn't a
consistent fix, and using the /etc/init.d/pulseaudio script doesn't
appear to have any effect whatsoever.

There are definite problems with pulseaudio it seems:

from /var/log/messages
Nov 22 10:21:03 quad pulseaudio[21577]: ltdl-bind-now.c: Failed to find
original dlopen loader.
Nov 22 10:21:05 quad pulseaudio[21666]: ltdl-bind-now.c: Failed to find
original dlopen loader.
Nov 22 10:28:58 quad pulseaudio[23615]: ltdl-bind-now.c: Failed to find
original dlopen loader.
Nov 22 10:28:58 quad pulseaudio[23617]: pid.c: Stale PID file, overwriting.
Nov 22 10:28:58 quad pulseaudio[23617]: main.c: setrlimit(RLIMIT_NICE, (31,
31)) failed: Operation not permitted
Nov 22 10:28:58 quad pulseaudio[23617]: main.c: setrlimit(RLIMIT_RTPRIO, (9,
9)) failed: Operation not permitted

Not sure what's being denied access, as I'm in (as far as I can tell)
the appropriate groups.

grep pulse /etc/group

pulse-access:x:127:username

[Bug 68187] Re: xine was unable to initialize any audio drivers. error

2008-11-03 Thread Tremaine Lea
I'm currently running Ibex (64 bit) and experiencing this problem.

Linux quad 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Thu Oct 30 04:12:22 UTC 2008 x86_64
GNU/Linux

Already installed and current:

libxine-dev
libxine1-dbg
libxine1-misc-plugins
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-7-generic
libflash-mozplugin

The error occurs whether I have Firefox open or not.

Killing the pulseaudio demon and then restarting it 'pulseaudio ' seems
to do the trick, but it's not pretty.

Re: [Bug 183685] unsubscribe

2008-10-17 Thread Tremaine Lea
Someone should submit *this* as a bug.

Is there actually a good reason an unsubscribe link isn't included in
the email itself? It's pretty common practice with almost any kind of
ESP or mailing list...

[Bug 284134] Re: intrepid partial upgrade broke update manager and evolution

2008-10-15 Thread Tremaine Lea
I'm also experiencing a similar issue where evolution was removed as
part of an update process, and now cannot be installed.

--

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  evolution: Depends: evolution-common (= 2.24.0-0ubuntu2) but 2.24.0-0ubuntu3
is to be installed

[Bug 75592] Re: libGLcore crash (probably screensaver-induced)

2006-12-21 Thread Tremaine Lea
I think I can add a vote for the screensaver triggering the problem in
my instance. Based on the initial reporters experience I disabled my
own xscreensaver and haven't had a crash since.

That said, I do rather hope this gets fixed as I rather like having a
screensaver that will lock my station when I forget to do it myself.
