[Bug 1429306] [NEW] Sending MIDI directly out of Soundcard causes lock up

2015-03-06 Thread Tristan Strange
Public bug reported:

After sending a number of MIDI notes out of my NI AudioKontrol 1 sound
card my system locks up completely and needs to be hard reset.

This problem appears to occur no matter what tool I use to send MIDI out
of the soundcards port.

Upon crashing:
- screen goes black but backlight is left on.
- Caps lock key begins to flash

[Bug 902870] [NEW] Window operations and modes is a misleading article.

2011-12-11 Thread Tristan Strange
Public bug reported:

I'm using:
Description:Ubuntu 11.10
Release:11.10

This article appears to be misleading: https://help.ubuntu.com/11.10
/ubuntu-help/shell-windows-states.html

The behavior described here does not occur on my system:

--
Ways to arrange windows in your workspace

You can automatically arrange two windows side by side. Alt + click and drag
one window towards the left until the cursor touches the left side of the
screen. The left half of the screen becomes highlighted. Unclick, and your
window should automatically take up exactly half your screen. Do the same thing
for another window, dragging it to the right side.
--

This does not work on my machine. Alt-dragging of windows has no effect.
