[Bug 1568787] Re: resolvconf does not reliable receive nameserver information from NetworkManager

2017-07-23 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
I first experience this issue with nm version 1.8.2-1ubuntu1 in an - as
of writing fully updated - 17.04.

Syslog will be attached, from that you can see that dnsmask gets the
nameserver, networkmanager gets it too, but it doesn't make to
resolv.conf, that will only have the stub resolver.

/etc/resolv.conf is a link ending in /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf.

Workaround is to manually add the nameserver to resolv conf and comment
out "dns=dnsmasq" in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf which is
really annoying on a laptop which you move around a lot.

[Bug 951790] Re: Laptop does not suspend on lid close when external display is connected

2012-05-30 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
It is still an issue in 12.04!
After an update several days ago my Dell E6520 with the intel CPU built in
graphics does not suspend when an external display is attached and I close the
lid. It suspends from the power menu and also on lid close id there is no
external display attached.
Before the update suspend on lid close worked fine even if an external display
was attached.
Unfortunately I can not tell which upgrade is responsible for the change, but I
can tell, that I reboot the mashine every weekend and I upgrade every 2-3 days.
That's why I think the upgrade responsible for the change arrived in the last
week, somewhere between 2012.05.21-2012.05.28.

[Bug 665548] Re: changing workspaces is very slow in case of big terminal windows

2011-10-21 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
In 11.10 this slow switch improved a lot. Switching to a workspace having a
maximized gnome-terminal takes 2-5 seconds on my Core2Duo@2GHz+Nvidia
laptop The same happens with lxterminal.
Also if a maximized terminal is on any of the other workspaces switching
between two workspace not having a terminal is randomly slowed down too.

Please improve importance.

For those suffering like me: old fashioned terminal implementations
are not effected: xterm, rxvt, mrxvt works fine. Try mrxvt.

[Bug 850649] Re: gnome-terminal extremely slow and display buggy

2011-10-21 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
Terminal tab switching is slower in 11.10 on my machine (Core2Duo@2GHz,4GB RAM)
with Unity-2D too. Also workspace switching is a nightmare in vte based
terminal implementations:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vte/+bug/665548.
In 11.04 it was also slow however I could live with it.
Maybe vte is the key to this slowliness?

Public bug reported:

After a network outing and suspend Empathy failed to connect to my jabber

Can confirm on a laptop dist-upgraded last night from maverick to natty.
In every 3-4 seconds memory usage is increased with the amount of several
hundred KB even if nothing is done after login. The estimation of 1MB in 10
seconds applies to my environment too.

If more info/log/statistics needed please ask for it.

[Bug 256139] Re: Default keyboard shortcuts no longer function

2008-11-12 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
I can confirm the missbehaviour of the lock screen shortcut in upgraded
Intrepid Ibex.
Juts upgraded to Intrepid Ibex from Hardy on three different machines (2PC and
a laptop). On every machine I have the same problem: after the upgrade the
previously working shortcut of lock screen stopped working. Changing the
shortcut seems to happen, but locking does not. Maybe related to other changes
regarding to login/logout/power management, eg migration to panel applet fast
user switching.

Didn't test with newly created user as mentioned earlier in forums regarding
shortcut stopped working problems.
All the other shortcuts are working.

Could you please give us something to make it work again ;-)

2008-01-23 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
I can confirm the bug:
- video driver used: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.1.1-0ubuntu9.1
- video card (motherboard integrated):
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82G33/G31 Express
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

To reproduce: start any X server with this driver. After it has been started
switching to console with ALT+CTRL+F1..F6 works but the monitor starts to
search (analog/digital) video source and after a while goes to sleep = video
card is deactivated. One can switch back to vt7 or any other vt where the X is
started.
After shutting down X server user ends up without any display.
Console's are there: with blind type you can login and start an other X :-)

[Bug 9286] Re: evolution-data-server: cpu usage rises to 90+%

2007-05-11 Thread Vadász Zoltán B .
I don't use any calendar function of evolution. I also turned off the alarms at
all.
What I use is only the mail functionality: I reach a simple IMAP mailbox with
it. In several minutes it surely eats up the CPU, often when I give the focus
to evolution. In my case not the data-server eats up the CPU but the process
called evolution. A rush can hold from 1 minute up to 5 minutes This
makes it unusable, so I move to Thunderbird. If you need some reproduction
please notify me

My Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 7.04 - the Feisty Fawn
My evolution version in it is the current freshest: 2.10.1
