[Bug 1398614] Re: mediascanner-service-2.0 using large amounts of CPU

2016-06-23 Thread Vincent Legoll
I was searching for a way to disable this, I hope I have found the right
place in configuration settings...

I opened in menus :

Applications
System tools
Preferences
Searching & indexing

I unchecked everything in "semantics"

It looks like there's an option missing in "limits", I would like to
choose "never" for "background content indexing", but this option is not
provided here...

This is manual translation from my installed lang to english so may not
be 100% accurate

[Bug 1319725] Re: package openstack-dashboard-ubuntu-theme (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: o subproceso novo script de post-removal devolveu o estado de saída de erro 1

2016-03-19 Thread Vincent Legoll
This is a bug in the maintainer script then, and does not invalidate the
bug report.

The workaround works, but is still a workaround and not a proper fix.

[Bug 1472109] [NEW] gpu-manager crashes

2015-07-07 Thread Vincent Legoll
Public bug reported:

gpu-manager has no man page and when running with -h it crashes:

$ gpu-manager -h
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
$ gpu-manager --help
gpu-manager: unrecognized option '--help'

If this is really something that should not be run, better hide it away
from $PATH...

But the command line option handling should be fixed anyway.

[Bug 1398614] Re: mediascanner-service-2.0 using large amounts of CPU

2015-06-04 Thread Vincent Legoll
Is there a global way to disable that thing other than apt-get purge ?

I don't want my CPU to be hogged every time I plug a removable drive.
Please stop blindly abusing our resources without giving us a way to escape
from it, pretty please.

What would be acceptable is a (***not hidden away***) config option
where one can choose to always scan, always ask or never scan...

The same we we can choose to auto-run, auto-launch, auto-open, etc...
