[Bug 1968519] Re: [Lenovo Ubuntu 22.04 Bug]The Physical VGA displayer shows no signal (black screen) when install Ubuntu 22.04

2022-06-05 Thread Vivien GUEANT
Hello,

I confirm that the incident is resolved.

I updated Ubuntu 22.04 server remotely via SSH (on a Dell PowerEdge R210
II server with a Matrox MGA G200eW WPCM450 internal card) and the local
console (by plugging a monitor into the server's VGA port) works fine.

$ uname -a
Linux serveur 5.15.0-35-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Sat May 21 02:24:07 UTC 2022
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Thanks,
Vivien

[Bug 1918137] [NEW] Ubuntu 21.04 Hirsute: i386 package cleaning process seems incomplete

2021-03-08 Thread Vivien GUEANT
Public bug reported:

Hello,

- The i386 package cleaning process seems incomplete: There are still
i386 boot images for Ubuntu 20.10 or Ubuntu 21.04 Hirsute Hippo:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/hirsute/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/

- The i386 architecture is always listed for Ubuntu 21.04 Hirsute Hippo:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+mirror/bouygues-telecom

- Files in the "indices" folder
(http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/indices/) are not cleaned up when a
distribution is deleted from the archive: there are files from Ubuntu
5.04: Hoary Hedgehog!

In order to reduce the environmental footprint of the mirrors which
contains these unnecessary files, which are copied in thousands of
copies, would it be possible to do some cleaning?

Is-it necessary to keep in the mirrors Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise
Pangolin? Ubuntu Extended Security Maintenance ended since April 2019
and the mirror files have not changed since may 2018:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/precise-security/

Would it be possible to move unsupported versions, like Ubuntu 12.04, to
http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ ?

Thank you in advance for a little cleaning, which might avoid upgrades
to the mirror servers (actual size of Ubuntu archives: 1558 GB).

Regards,
Vivien.

[Bug 1880662] Re: munin node config for mysql not working

2020-08-21 Thread Vivien GUEANT
I have the same type of access problem for other plug-ins : "File
/tmp/rsyncd.log cannot be read." or "/usr/bin/tail: cannot open
'/home/[...].csv' for reading: Permission denied"

Everything worked perfectly with Ubuntu server 18.04, the regression
happened after updating to Ubunut server 20.04

Would that be an apparmor limitation ?

2020-02-01 Thread Vivien GUEANT

Would it be possible to remove ftp, which is an obsolete protocol, and
to add the possibility to the mirrors that wish to propose https in
addition to http?

Another argument to switch to https mirrors: With some Wi-Fi networks,
hash checksums are systematically false. Using https can not be impacted
by software that modifies the contneu of http connections.

Look at the example of a connection refused in http by the operator and
which goes in https:

=> I do not meet any more "tx_timeout" since this update.

Command used to install kernel 4.18 :
sudo apt install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04

Network card driver i40e :
- Linux 4.15 : Intel(R) Ethernet Connection XL710 Network Driver - version
2.1.14-k
- Linux 4.18 : Intel(R) Ethernet Connection XL710 Network Driver - version

[Bug 1464064] Re: Ubuntu apt repos are not available via HTTPS

2018-12-01 Thread Vivien GUEANT
Is-it possible to reference on
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors hosting Ubuntu mirror in
http secure (https in addition of http and rsync)

Would it be possible to remove ftp, which is an obsolete protocol, and
to add the possibility to the mirrors that wish to propose https in
addition to http?

Note that Debian will no longer offer FTP from 1 November 2017:
https://www.debian.org/News/2017/20170425.en.html the FTP protocol is
inefficient and requires adding awkward kludges to firewalls and load-
balancing daemons.

Another argument to switch to https mirrors: With some Wi-Fi networks,
hash checksums are systematically false. Using https can not be impacted
by software that modifies the contneu of http connections.

French screenshot of a download failed in http (ok after switching to
https, https://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ is available in https)

Is it possible to affect the bug for Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark ?

I think it is possible to close the bug for Ubuntu 17.04 Zesty Zapus and
Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus who do not have apache 2.4.27

The merge from Debian will be ok, because Debian already offers the mod
HTTP/2.

Just make sure not to remove HTTP/2, when merging from Debian.

[Bug 1658469] [NEW] mod_http2 is not available under Apache 2.4.23 / Ubuntu 17.04 xenial

2017-01-22 Thread Vivien GUEANT
Public bug reported:

mod_http2 for HTTP/2 is not available in folder /etc/apache2/mods-available
(/etc/apache2/mods-available/http2.load does not exist)

HTTP/2 (originally named HTTP/2.0) is the second major version of the
HTTP network protocol used by the World Wide Web.

In January 2016 it was decided not to put http/2 in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
because the code is too young and not compatible with a 5 years support:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-
release/2016-January/003499.html

"Don't build experimental http2 module for LTS:"
=> https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/zesty/+source/apache2/+changelog

Ubuntu 17.04 has a support of 9 months and the http/2 code exists for 2
years. It is no longer necessary to disable http/2.
