[Bug 80709] Crashed while opening a scripted window

2007-01-20 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

First time this happened while posting on a forum running vBulletin®
Version 3.6.3 where I post on regular basis.

It happened as I was attempting to add a hyperlink by clicking on the
appropriate button which opens a scripted dialog where you input the
hyperlink.

[Bug 80709] Re: Crashed while opening a scripted window

2007-01-20 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
No, I do these actions quite often and this is the first time it
happened.

I've tried to crash it again but the damn thing is now solid as a rock
:)

Hope the attached report is of some use.

[Bug 74731] Re: Applications refuse to start

2006-12-09 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
It appears this was related to a bug encountered while using Gaim
(https://launchpad.net/bugs/74631) as it hasn't happened again since
that issue got fixed (computer has been running almost non-stop since
the original report).

[Bug 74631] Re: GAIM repeatedly crashing, usualy just before IM is received

** Attachment added: Bug report

** Description changed:

Sometimes the bug report is generated, at other times it just
  disappears.

I'm stumped as to what might be causing these crashes but sometimes they
can occur as often as once every few minutes, while at other times GAIM
  will operate normally for hours.

- Running GAIM in debug mode did not help.
+ Running GAIM in debug mode did not help (crashed anyway).
+
+ When started from terminal the only feedback is core dumped or
+ something similar, I'll try to replicate and provide the exact quote.

I have three accounts configured, one for MSN, another for Yahoo and the
  third on ICQ.

2006-12-06 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
From the terminal:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gaim
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

This time it took FireFox with it as well. Terminal remained open, as
did Evolution. I'll try the beta version you suggested but this is
beginning to look like a system-wide problem.

[Bug 74631] Re: GAIM repeatedly crashing, usualy just before IM is received

2006-12-06 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
Yep, now no application will open other than the ones already running.
All I get is a Starting application name in the lower panel which
disappears after a few moments.

Firefox somehow did run, detected a previous crash and restored open
pages, which is how I'm posting this.

Log off/restart etc panel also refuses to open.

This has happened to me before, the only thing that can be done now is
to terminate my session with ctrl - alt - backspace or force shutdown
via the power button.

This does NOT happen each time GAIM crashes.

2006-12-06 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
No, sorry, my two previous updates describe what was happening before I
installed 2.0 beta 5.

Beta 5 has been solid as a rock so far.

Sorry again for not making that clear in my previous update.

[Bug 74731] Applications refuse to start

2006-12-06 Thread Vladan Radmilovic
Public bug reported:

Applications fail to start when selected from menus. The Starting
*application* button appears on the lower panel (Gnome), hangs there for
a few seconds, then disappears. Shutdown/logout/reset impossible as the
panel doesn't come up. Ctrl-alt-backspace restores function but
obviously interrupts work.

What's interesting is that applications which were active at the time of
the ?crash? function normally, and will open again once closed (last
tried with Firefox). Haven't had terminal open when it happens so no
information on apps started from there.

Unable to reproduce.

Happened about five times since a clean install of Edgy about a week
ago.

The machine is HP NX6110.
