2006-08-03 Thread Ryan Kavanagh
When I start the printer threw cups webmin, by pressing the green start
printer button, I get taken to a new page that says Printer E210 has
been started., and then forwarded to this page. Then this page (the one
with the printer with the yellow light) reloads and shows me a page like
the one in the next screenshot.

[Bug 55078] no samba cups printing -- smbspool fails

2006-08-03 Thread Ryan Kavanagh
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: samba

Samba cups printer doesn't start ever since the upgrade from dapper to edgy.
This produces this error in the webmin:

E210 (Default Printer) /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb failed

/usr/lib/cups/backend/smb is a symbolic link to /usr/bin/smbspool. When
I try to run smbspool in konsole with no arguments, I get the following
error:

network smb Unknown Windows Printer via SAMBA

I can add a printer to cupsys threw the web interface, so it shouldn't
be a problem of permissions.

[Bug 54988] Re: Sound echoes, after upgrade.

2006-08-02 Thread Ryan Kavanagh
Please do record the sound... are you using artsd? I've been having trouble
with it since upgrade to edgy.
Also, does it do this when recording? Like does the recording stutter or
skip, or does it record smoothly?
Also, when you run a sound-playing program from konsole/terminal, do you get
errors?

[Bug 55002] Display pictures take a long time to load

2006-08-02 Thread Ryan Kavanagh
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kopete

I open up a msn protocol conversation window, and send a message. It
takes on average, 10 seconds for my display picture to load to the left
of my nickname/display name. and then another 20 seconds for the other
person's display picture to load. This is only since my recent upgrade
to edgy. And no, it is not due to a connection problem, (700kb/s
up/down).

[Bug 54310] Gnome Clipboard Daemon (Edgy Request/Wishlist)

2006-07-27 Thread Ryan Kavanagh
Public bug reported:

Migrating Windows users are used to a persistent clipboard, which Ubuntu does
not have. The Unofficial Ubuntu Starter Guide has a a
href=http://ubuntuguide.org/#clipboard-daemon;walkthrough/a to install one,
but this should really be made into a package.

http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17960

I find that this would be a good idea for Ubuntu, since Kubuntu has
something simmilar (klipper), if I remember correctly. I'm also going to
attempt to package it sometime this week. You can get the source here:

Binary package hint: kicker-applets

transparence (kicker). Please see the screenshot(s) attached.
