[Bug 1620799] Re: Desktop too big

2016-09-09 Thread William Hughes
I now have fully functional Unity Desktops, on both of my computers,
after a wipe and fresh install. The main difference is no Google-Chrome.
I have Chromium on both machines and the system on both have been
updated. SO I think my problem was solved.

[Bug 1620904] Re: No launcher or menus

2016-09-08 Thread William Hughes
This may be a Google Chrome problem. Third install (with whole disk
wipe) of 16.04.1 without google-chrome and the menu / launchpad have
returned. Installed chromium and so far still works OK. I have to try
this on my other computer to see if this is it.

[Bug 1604657] Re: [Regression] Unity shows blank desktop with software renderer

2016-09-08 Thread William Hughes
I have this problem on two different computers. Different brands and
video cards. Fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.01, both updated. No Launcher
or Menu bars on screen, just Unity wallpaper/ background. I can left
click access terminal and the screen settings menu, but when I run a
program, no menu bar for the program and desktop is set to place the
menu on the program window.

** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu)

Re: [Bug 1620904] Re: No launcher or menus

2016-09-07 Thread William Hughes
I don't understand your response. I am using the standard desktop windowing
program that is installed when you do a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04.01 It
worked fine at first now I have now launcher or menu bar and when I bring
up and application, say for example Chrome it has no menu bar. This is
happening on two different computers that were bot recently fresh installed
Ubuntu 16.04.01 and updated.

1 Computer uses an Intel Q45/Q43 video card.
2nd computer uses and NIVIDA video card.

How do I fix this?

[Bug 525982] Re: Version 1.4.3 cannot finalize OpenOffice 3.1 document

2010-04-15 Thread William Hughes
I had the same problem as Commoner using Bibus 1.5 on Karmic 9.10. Making the
change means finalize works. I am not sure what to expect from the copy. It
does save stuff
but does not change the name of the file
