Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
Note: This is a multi-platform Firefox bug, first detected on 3.0.4 . It
is NOT Ubuntu-specific IMHO.
Activity:
Performing a series of Finds on a large web page
(http://nixbox.org/cellar/datasets/21).
What happens:
Eventually, firefox will not accept any input (for the next Find) and
consumes all available CPU.
What should happen:
A little bit of STBO here - it should accept the text that I am attempting
to type in and provide the first occurrence of it.
One activity that sometimes can make it happen:
Attempting to delete past position 1 in the Find: dialog box (for example
by selecting all text using the mouse and then pressing the backspace key a
couple of times) then attempting to type in some text.
First noticed this on Ubuntu 8.0.4, but subsequently on Winders Vista
(SP1) as well - so believe it is a common code issue.
