[Bug 482509] Re: KTorrent hangs whole system when rescaning data
(Trying not to make this a 'me too'). Me too! Ubuntu 10.04 (upgraded from 9.10) and ktorrent hanging entire system when checking. Happened three times today, last time I was running nothing else (well, obviously background stuff, but no other apps open). Had a sudden thought about disk space so opened a terminal but it hung just before terminal opened. Encrypted home drive, and yes I didn have plenty of space (around 20 gigs). Most annoying thing was I was trying to download the Ubuntu ISO via the torrent :P Transmission worked fine though so if anyone is having problems that is at least a work around. -- KTorrent hangs whole system when rescaning data https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/482509 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to ktorrent in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 420839] Re: Karmic 2.6.31-8 Kernel hangs on bootup
Kernel 2..31-9 Kernel boots fine now. So not sure what that was but it's fixed! [Bug 420839] Re: Karmic 2.6.31-8 Kernel hangs on bootup
No, it's an (old) Compaq Presario Laptop, not a netbook. /var/log/gdm does exist as a directory with a bunch of files into it, although I don't have access to that dir (sudo does). I can run Karmic, just not with the latest kernel so I don't think it's a huge problem (although others may disagree!) just a bit annoying. -- Karmic 2.6.31-8 Kernel hangs on bootup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420839 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 420839] [NEW] Karmic 2.6.31-8 Kernel hangs on bootup
Public bug reported: Did jaunty -> karmic upgrade overnight. This morning the default kernel (2.6.31-8) hangs on startup. The standard ubuntu (well Xubuntu in my case) loading screen comes up, bar gets around 3/4 way up, then it drops to terminal view to display more things. Last thing said is starting NTPD however removing that still causes the issue so assuming it is the NEXT item that errors. The upgrade also has a 2.6.28-15 kernel on it, and that one runs fine. Tried to look for similar errors, found some but none were on this kernel. One said removing samba fixed the issue, but I do not have samba installed (did an apt-get remove just in case anyway but apt says not installed). Tried to enable boot log ( edit /etc/default/bootlogd to say Yes) but that didn't seem to create a boot log file - cat /var/log/boot says (Nothing has been logged yet). So not sure if the error is the kernel itself or some daemon that runs and doesn't like the kernel. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Summary changed: - Karmic 2.6.31-8 hangs on bootup + Karmic 2.6.31-8 Kernel hangs on bootup -- Karmic 2.6.31-8 Kernel hangs on bootup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/420839 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 328576] Re: Please sync python-webkit 1.0.2-1 from Debian unstable
I'm still getting the same error. I gave it 'a couple of days' as suggested by Iain Lane (not accusing you of fibbing here, you were the one that said it, that was all) but even after sudo apt-get updates and upgrades I still can't install python-webkitgtk still with the same error mentioned first. Just in case my server was the one that hadn't been updated (was the US server) I changed to the 'main' server and still had the same problem. I'm assuming that the 'main' server is the first one updated and then the changes are propagated around the world. I'm running 64 bit Jaunty. Trying to install python-webkitgtk-dev errors because it needs webkitgtk which it can't install because: The following packages have unmet dependencies: python-webkitgtk: Depends: python (< 2.6) but 2.6.1-0ubuntu2 is to be installed E: Broken packages Which is presumably exact what is mentioned above, with wrong versions. -- Please sync python-webkit 1.0.2-1 from Debian unstable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/328576 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 337423] Re: Broken package: unmet dependency python-webkitgtk
Same problem here. Also 64 bit version. Also if you try to install the python-webkitgtk-dev package it requires python-webkit and also fails. Will try a fresh 32 bit install in a VM see what happens - see if this is a 64 bit issues or both 32 and 64 bit... -- Broken package: unmet dependency python-webkitgtk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337423 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
