2021-08-01 Thread Yann Sionneau
Hello Norbert,
Does the "Invalid" mean that it is fixed in new releases?
Regards,
Yann

[Bug 1802784] [NEW] Ubuntu Mate Firefox Start page contains trackers (googleanalytics+cloudflare)

2018-11-11 Thread Yann Sionneau
Public bug reported:

This package sets Firefox default start page to https://start.ubuntu-
mate.org which contains Google Analytics and Cloudflare trackers.

In my opinion, a start page should not contain any remote tracker (i.e.
should not load anything rom third party domains).

Content of the package:
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/ubuntu-mate-default-settings/filelist

Content of /usr/lib/firefox/ubuntumate.cfg:
$ cat /usr/lib/firefox/ubuntumate.cfg
//
defaultPref("browser.startup.homepage", "https://start.ubuntu-mate.org;);

What I expect:
uMatrix should not show any red line when loading default start page of
Ubuntu-Mate OS.

** Affects: mate-desktop
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: "Ubuntu-Mate-Firefox.png"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1802784/+attachment/5211504/+files/Ubuntu-Mate-Firefox.png

** Package changed: ubuntu-mate-settings (Ubuntu) => mate-desktop

2016-07-08 Thread Yann Sionneau
On the same kind of topic, daemon: oneshot is buggy and cannot work also.
Because it does set Restart=on-failure, which is refused by systemd.

And because of this very bug (the one reported by Kyle), you cannot use
restart-condition: never to make oneshot daemon work.

[Bug 1579767] Re: udf does not support using aarch64 kernel snap with armhf 32 bits user space

2016-06-03 Thread Yann Sionneau
Issue was that os.snap (containing initrd.img) was being downloaded in
self.sourcedir + 'os.snap'.
Meaning the os.snap was being downloaded (and cached) in the kernel source dir.
Which I didn't clean and which "snapcraft clean" didn't clean either.

I guess this is not the correct behaviour.
So now the image is flashed and boots correctly o/

Ah OK, right, I need to update my kernel snap.
It's been some time since I last built it (using snapcraft).

I'll rebuild it, thanks!

[Bug 1579767] Re: udf does not support using aarch64 kernel snap with armhf 32 bits user space

2016-06-03 Thread Yann Sionneau
Maybe I should open a new bug but now I'm able to generate paros.img image with
ubuntu-device-flash.
But then when I flash it and boot it I get issues from the init of initrd.
initrd cannot mount the gadget/kernel/core snaps because it searches for them
in the wrong paths.
It searches at /tmpmnt_writable/system-data/var/lib/snappy/snaps/file.snap
But they are in /tmpmnt_writable/system-data/var/lib/snapd/snaps/file.snap

I guess this is coming from UDF generating wrong files in initrd?
How can I fix this?

Thanks!

Allright, I fixed the linewraps issues and now the image is generated o/
Thanks!
Ok I see I need to put some snappy_* variables, is this documented somewhere?
What variables to use, and what they are supposed to contain?

[Bug 318397] [NEW] gdm segfaults sometime using libfprint (finger print authentification)

2009-01-18 Thread Yann Sionneau
Public bug reported:

Problem : i select my user on gdm, it waits for me to pass my thumb over
the finger scanner, i do it, gdm segfaults and restart.

Frequency : it does not happen every time, sometimes it works at the
first try, sometime it crash (segfault) and i do it again and it works.
Sometime (like this one) i had to disable libfprint in /etc/pam.d/gdm
because it keeps crashing and i just can't login.

What i did to make gdm use libfprint : i installed the package
libfprint0 libpam-fprint and fprint-demo , i registered my thumb finger
print, modified my /etc/pam.d/gdm to be like :

#%PAM-1.0
authrequisite pam_nologin.so
auth sufficient pam_fprint.so
authrequiredpam_env.so readenv=1
etc ...

and when it doesn't segfault, it works very well, apart the lack of
integration into gdm (as said in another bug report i've just read)

what i get in output in dmesg :

[ 44.179389] gdm[5817]: segfault at 2197000 ip 7f615726b830 sp

(yes i tried several times)

I'm using ubuntu intrepid ibex 8.10 for amd64
my laptop is HP tx2670ef (recent one)
i'm using free graphic driver for ati hd3200
i'm using wacom driver in X.org for sensitive screen
kernel :

GNU/Linux
libfprint0 package version : 0.0.6-2
libpam-fprint package version : 0.2-3
My ubuntu is totally up to date so i'm using last X.org and last gdm.
The device i use to do finger prints : Bus 007 Device 002: ID 08ff:1600

[Bug 250241] Re: thermal.ko fails - no fan on laptop

2008-07-20 Thread Yann Sionneau
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description
does not yet have enough information.

Please include the following additional information, if you have not already
done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the
Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command uname -a in your next response.
It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version
you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command dmesg dmesg.log after a fresh boot and attach the
resulting file dmesg.log to this bug report.
3. Please run the command sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log and attach the
resulting file lspci-vvnn.log to this bug report.

For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-
related bug reports is available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies Thanks in advance!

Ps : you may want to add some informations about ACPI too, check out
this web site to know what informations you can provide :
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI

thank you !

[Bug 136836] Re: Ethernet (nVidia MCP55) not working [ gutsy, hardy]

2008-07-18 Thread Yann Sionneau
Hi again !
Just a little message to say that i upgraded to latest
linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic_2.6.24-19.36_i386.deb (so it overwrote yours) and
after a reboot the problem was here again.

Just to point the fact that the problem still exists in the latest
ubuntu kernel update.

Hope you will manage to fixe this, i remind you that i'm stil available
to test your .deb if you want.

Keep us informed of your improvements :)

Thank you !
