almost everything stays on the screen until some other application draws
itself on that place.

[Bug 767424] Re: Can't move window buttons in a task bar

2011-04-20 Thread Yrogirg
Something strange was happening.

Panel was unlocked, locking/unlocking didn't affect the issue. Then I
added a new panel and added window list to it. On this new panel it was
working. Then I removed it from the new panel and put it into the old
one. It wasn't working here.

Then I increased the size of the old panel and it started working --- I
was able to move window buttons. And it was still working when I reduced
the size back.

Finally I figured out two states of the panel, see the screenshots. The
one with a large hide all windows button has a working window list.
The other with the bad fitted hide all windows button has broken
window list applet.

To turn broken state into working one only needs to increase/reduce the
panel size. However after reboot the state is still broken.

Have you attempted reinstalling gnome to see if somehow your install is
bad?

How do I do that? There are many packages with gnome in title in
synaptic, most of them not installed. I've reinstalled gnome-applets and
gnome-panel, it didn't help.

BTW, as far as I remember when I installed natty beta2 there was no
window list applet in the gnome panel by default.

I've found the bug report https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/663630

[Bug 671812] Re: Keyboard layout indicator doesn't show layout

2010-11-07 Thread Yrogirg
is not really a bug, or a problem

I don't quite understand. The indicator doesn't show active layout at
all, no text like US, UK, RU or similar, no flags, it doesn't work at
all. Is it not a bug?

The only way to tell what the layout is active now is too look at the
led indicator on keyboard, but normally I don't see keyboard, its under
my desk.

There also seems no way to remove the indicator (since it is not
working, no need in it).

[Bug 498981] [NEW] Sound suddenly disappears.

2009-12-21 Thread Yrogirg
Public bug reported:

Sound suddenly disappears, but later it appears again and so on, quite
randomly (for the whole system, vlc, flash, games). When the sound
reappears I can hear the last sounds before disappearing. The problem
was also in 9.04.

In Windows sound works fine --- it doesn't disappears even after hours
of playing, in ubuntu it usually stops after several minutes. In 9.10 I
also tried OSS4 --- the same result. When the sound stops such programs
as firefox playing flash, vlc also stop, I had to kill them.

I don't think its a hardware problem since under WinXP everything is
fine with both headphones and speakers. The sound card is Realtek
ALC655. And I haven't tried other linux distributions.
