[Bug 1901413] Re: Sound Blaster Audigy 5/Rx cannot be configured as input/output

2020-10-27 Thread Alessio
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected third-party-packages ulyana

** Description changed:

  I have Sound Blaster Audigy 5/Rx, using the well known snd_emu10k1, but I
cannot use it as both input and output device: it's working either as output or
as input but not as input/output.
  I have installed "pavucontrol", when opening it in "configure" there are
different options:

  Output "Analog Stereo"
  Output "Digital Stereo (IEC958)"
  Output "Surround 5.1"
  Output "Surround 4.1"
  Output "Surround 2.1"
  Output "Surround 7.1"
  Output "Surround 5.0"
  Output "Surround 4.0"
  Input "Analog Stereo"
  Input "Digital Stereo (IEC958)"

  If I pick one of the "output" I can hear the sound but the microphones
  are greyed out in the audio panel and I can't use it in any application.
  Instead if I select "Input "Analog Stereo"" I can record the audio but I
  can't hear any output!

  The volumes are turned up according also to a previous post I did
  related to similar issue I had in the past.

  The only workaround found so far is to execute: "pacmd load-module
  module-alsa-source device=hw:1,0".

  Please find attached "alsa-info" report.

  Everything was working fine in Min 19.3 but not in Mint 20 (based on Ubuntu
20.04):

[Bug 1901413] [NEW] Sound Blaster Audigy 5/Rx cannot be configured as input/output

2020-10-25 Thread Alessio
Public bug reported:

20.04):

Re: [Bug 1871268] Re: Installation fails when "Install Third-Party Drivers" is selected

2020-10-04 Thread Alessio
No Matter now. Thank you.
I simpl complete installation without chosing no option and let the program
start by itself and tell not to do download updates during installation.
Now installation is complete, system works and tomorrow i do all the updates
and let you know.
Thanks for support. Bye !

[Bug 1825832] [NEW] ImportError: No module named Image

2019-04-22 Thread Alessio Linares
Public bug reported:

simple-image-reducer fails to start. It prints the following output before
failing:
```
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/simple-image-reducer", line 28, in
import Image
ImportError: No module named Image
```

I just installed it using apt and tried running it from the CLI.

System info:
```
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS
Release:18.04
$ apt-cache policy simple-image-reducer
simple-image-reducer:
  Installed: 1.0.2-6
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/universe i386 Packages
```

What you expected to happen?
The program to start and run nomally.

What happened instead?
It failed to start with the error pasted above.

I managed to get the program working by applying the changes contained in the
attached patch file.

[Bug 1769792] Re: Keyboard and Touchpad do not work after suspend/resume

2019-04-19 Thread Alessio Boccialoni
I have the same problem, with Fujitsu Lifebook E557, Ubuntu 18.10,
kernel 4.18.0-17-generic.

After resume from suspend, touchpad doesn't work at all. Keyboard works
somewhat, but some keys are randomly "repete". Reboot doesn't
help, but need to to turn the machine off and on again.

2018-10-14 Thread Alessio "Spinus" Moscatello via ubuntu-bugs
Hello,
sorry for the delay, I've tested kernel 4.15.0-38-generic, but the problem is
not solved.
Wifi seems, connect, but I cannot ping my domestic router...it seems that there
are some problem sending packet on the Wifi connection, rather than
establishing the connection with the Wifi router...
Is there any other test I can perform?

[Bug 1796576] [NEW] rtl8723be cannot connect to wifi since Kernel version 4.15.0-33-generic

2018-10-07 Thread Alessio "Spinus" Moscatello via ubuntu-bugs
Public bug reported:

Starting from Kernel version linux-image-4.15.0-33-generic I cannot connect
anymore to wifi network. The problem occurs also with
linux-image-4.15.0-34-generic.
Kernel version linux-headers-4.15.0-32-generic is working fine.

My current configuration for rtl8723be is
/etc/modprobe.d/rtlbtcoex.conf:
options rtl8723be ant_sel=2 ips=0

I'm using these parameters with for rtl8723be module in order to get the
correct gain for Wifi antenna.

[Bug 1620636] Re: Fails to pair with Bose QC35 headphones

2017-03-17 Thread Alessio Tona
I got it to work, but you need to set it up manually every time you
reboot. First I close bluetooth and bluez by effectively stopping them
(not restarting), then starting them again using systemctl stop/start
bluetooth and sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth start/stop. Then I start bluez
manager and connect my device using setup via audio sink. Then you have
to manually change sound to the headphones. I am a newbie with scripts,
maybe someone more experienced than me can make a script that does all
these actions at boot.

I applied both solution of #5 and #45. After running the python script
my headset started working correctly. I don't know if it is solution of
#45 or the combination of #5 and #45, but it works now. Thanks!

[Bug 1359211] Re: Mouse cursor tiny when hovering unity elements in high DPI mode

2015-12-03 Thread Alessio Treglia
** Description changed:

+
+ [Impact]
+
  On a high DPI screen (220 DPI) the mouse cursor is really tiny when
  hovering unity elements. There are various keys in dconf to change the
  cursor's scale factor or size. I've managed to change it in a way that
  it looks normal when inside application windows, but its still tiny when
  on unity elements.

  I think this should be set automatically by the scale factor setting in
  system settings.

+ (Using unity 7.3.1+14.10.20140811-0ubuntu1)

- (Using unity 7.3.1+14.10.20140811-0ubuntu1)
+ [Test Case]
+
+  * Log in
+  * Launch Firefox
+ * Move the mouse over the panel or the launcher,
+then back over the Firefox window.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * Mouse cursors might appear wrong for some actions

[Bug 559894] Re: German spellchecking does not work

2015-06-29 Thread Alessio Aguirre-Pimentel
Perhaps someone can help me.
I cannot add a language to Empathy because I do not know how.
I search the net and all I find is people who added a language and cannot
activated it, but nobody actually describes how to add a language.
Some people say go to Settings/Region Language/ and go to Empathy and add a
language, yet there is no Empathy tab in Regions Language.
Any help?

+ running mplayer or vlc the video output is incorrect. There are are 2 line
steps on edges.
  The problems is known and there is already an upstream fix available.
  http://www.spinics.net/lists/intel-gfx/msg65030.html

  I have rebuild the driver with git from 2015-04-28, and the video output
  is correct now.

  The bugfix is for Generation 8 Intel graphics like Intel NUC with Core
I5-5250 and HD6000 grahics in my case.
  The used version is Ubuntu vivid amd64.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ Launch Skype, VLC or mplayer and use xv as video output.
+ A sample of the corruption can be found here:

+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ None. Admittedly I may not be the right one to fully assess the risk.
+ Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

2015-04-01 Thread Alessio Treglia
Public bug reported:

Hi,

ELAN0600 lacks full touch support if not registered with elan_i2c.ko.
I've got in touch with Benjamin Tissoires, who kindly provided me with a

afterwards made the patch publicly available at LKML [2].

[Bug 1166442] Re: Elantech clickpad/touchpad lacks multitouch features.

2015-02-16 Thread Alessio Treglia
This affects my laptop (Lenovo Yoga 3 11.6 2-in-1):

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 8087:8001 Intel Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 058f:6387 Alcor Micro Corp. Flash Drive
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Presumably the touchpad is the following line then:
  Bus 002 Device 004: ID 04f3:2052 Elan Microelectronics Corp.

The touchscreen works fine, as well as both left and right clicks. Just
the multitouch doesn't work at all.

 The udev rule file in libgphoto2 is only in Ubuntu, so there's no

 forth upstream how to handle PtP cameras, and I believe this is fixed
 properly in the latest upstream versions.

Great, thanks!
