[Bug 27541] Re: Disable Touchpad while typing doesn't work consistently - hardware-specific?

2011-01-12 Thread alexcastanaza
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 240738 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240738

I'm also affected by this bug, with a macbook pro 6,2. And I also agree that a
gconf parameter would be NOT user-friendly. A graphical item, like a numeric
value or a slide bar in the touchpad settings box for the time delay after a
key press should be the solution, besides fixing the bug why sometimes the
delay is not respected.
Thank you.

[Bug 621265] Re: Slow Wireless Connection in Intel 3945abg

2010-12-03 Thread alexcastanaza
I have not tried Maverick release, I'm using Lucid, but I have the
affected wireless card, so that is enough reason to not upgrade, until
the issue is fixed. Intel cards should be well supported, please fix
this bug.

[Bug 544471] Re: Download unavailable in several countries

2010-10-11 Thread alexcastanaza
Hi. I think I'm being directed to the US store and when clicking
download button gives me the Download unavailable message and the
iprestricted message in the terminal output. I don't see anywhere to
change to the world store mentioned in other posts. I'm in Guatemala.

[Bug 429841] Re: broken packaging: package flashplugin-nonfree failed to install/upgrade: (breaks upgrade)

2010-06-08 Thread alexcastanaza
Thank you.
I did the workaround and works just fine. The update manager works normally
after this process.

[Bug 429841] Re: broken packaging: package flashplugin-nonfree failed to install/upgrade: (breaks upgrade)

2010-06-07 Thread alexcastanaza
Hi.
I agree with comment #42.
I recently upgraded from 8.04 LTS to 10.04 LTS, (via update manager), and
received many complains about flashplugin package errors. As soon as I have
access to my home computer I will try the workaround described here. But I also
want to ask if that is all needed for the upgrade to complete, or do I have to
do something else for the upgrade to lucid be complete?

[Bug 222407] Re: Nvidia driver does not work properly in hardy

2008-05-15 Thread alexcastanaza
I had this same problem, but I fixed it installing the nvidia package version
169.12.
It does not work after installing the drivers, so, i looked at this post
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72490
and disabled the nv and nvidia_new modules in the
/etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common file (that is,
DISABLED_MODULES=nv nvidia_new).
Then, i ran the nvidia-xconfig and rebooted... finally it displayed nice
graphics and I even could enable the desktop effects, I saw that the
nvidia-settings utility even recognized correctly my monitor.

I hope this helps.
