Can't start the terminal unfortunately. I followed the instructions given in the link. DONE 1. Boot the machine. APPEARS AUTOMAT. 2. During the BIOS screen, press the shift key and hold it down. You should see the GRUB menu after the BIOS loads. DONE 3. Navigate to the kernel entry you want to boot, and press 'e'. DONE 4. Then remove the quiet and splash keywords (found in the line starting with linux) NOT AVAILABLE 5. Starting with Natty (Ubuntu 11.04), also remove the parameter vt.handoff=7, and on the line that reads set gfxpayload=$linux_gfx_mode, replace with set gfxpayload=text DONE 6. Press 'Ctrl+x' to boot. [Bug 1001553] Re: mysql-server failed to start after daily upgrade, reinstalling does not help
well, to avoid reconfiguring uninstalled packages, I use aptitude and tomboy/knotes just ask sudo aptitude purge mysql-common and it will display a list of packages needs to be removed, copy and paste them to notes. then accept the solution. After complete removal and reinstalling mysql copy the list of apps from notes and write in console sudo aptitude install [CTRL + SHIFT + V] [HIT ENTER] that will save your couple of days... :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001553 Title: mysql-server failed to start after daily upgrade, reinstalling does not help To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.5/+bug/1001553/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1001553] Re: mysql-server failed to start after daily upgrade, reinstalling does not help
This problem is resolved only after the following lines aptitude purge mysql-server mysql-server-5.5 mysql-client mysql-client-5.5 mysql-common removing mysql-common removed dozens of other packages, which I copied and now reinstalling. after that I removed the mysql etc folder sudo rm /etc/mysql/ -R and reninstalled the mysql sudo aptitude install mysql-server mysql-client This resolves the problem, however the bug is there and should be sorted out. [Bug 335563] [NEW] Epson C91 Printer not detected
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cupsys Hello. I have a Epson C91 Printer which is normally plugged in and with the right driver (there's no driver for it, the C88 or DX4050 usually do it) and it's not detected, it's not under lsusb either, and this happens to me quite frequently, it's only rarely detected. What's wrong with it.
