[Bug 2067761] [NEW] Discover GUI will not load, although process loads. It can be made to work if passed to strace.
Public bug reported: For several days, I cannot use the Discover software app. (plasma- discover). Clicking the icon results in a brief animation on the icon, then nothing. [Bug 2067752] [NEW] Packages file contains extra uinnecessary hashes
Public bug reported: Packages files (eg. http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/jammy/main/binary- amd64/Packages.xz) contain hashes using MD5sum, SHA1, SHA256 and SHA512, but if we deprecate the older ones and leave only SHA512 (for example), then we get a 30% or so size saving, reducing the "apt-get update" download size of a typical system by 5-10 MB when there is no cache (eg. on every cloud instance boot). This seems worth adding to a backlog. I think we need to track: Launchpad support for per-series compatibility level, so that we can reduce the set of published hashes in newer releases without affecting old ones. Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report. From DpkgTerminalLog.txt: unable to create '/etc/ldap/ldap.conf.dpkg-new' (while processing './etc/ldap/ldap.conf'): Read-only file system This indicates that there is another issue at play here. The root filesystem seems to be read-only, and dpkg can't properly install the package and its associated files. Could you provide more details regarding your setup, please? Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as 'Incomplete'. However, if you believe that this is really a bug in Ubuntu, then we would be grateful if you would provide a more complete description of the problem with steps to reproduce, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to "New". [Bug 2061851] Re: linux-gcp 6.8.0-1005.5 (+ others) Noble kernel regression with new apparmor profiles/features
This bug is awaiting verification that the linux- nvidia-6.8/6.8.0-1006.6~22.04.2 kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-jammy-linux- nvidia-6.8' to 'verification-done-jammy-linux-nvidia-6.8'. If the problem still exists, change the tag 'verification-needed-jammy-linux- nvidia-6.8' to 'verification-failed-jammy-linux-nvidia-6.8'. If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed. [Bug 2067738] [NEW] Error on display
Public bug reported: error in the screen display, in the upper right corner of the screen is the button where I can turn off, lower or decrease the sound or change my internet network, this is working, but below this button, there are the close the page and minimize buttons , but I can't click on a certain area, for example in Google Chrome, I can't click on the close, minimize, settings, or change user buttons, the icon is there, but it's like it's not clickable, this happens in all apps, when it's full screen 1920x1080, I can't click on anything in the top right corner. The only way to click on these icons is by dragging the app or browser to the left side or center of the screen, but this makes it impossible for the user, every time they want to change something on the tab, they have to drag it to the left side or center. , it's as if the top right corner doesn't exist, this only happens in 1920x1080 resolution, in a lower one I can click normally, but it's a very bad image ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+23ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-31.31-generic 6.8.1 Uname: Linux 6.8.0-31-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_modeset nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.capabilities.gpu0: Error: path was not a regular file. .proc.driver.nvidia.capabilities.mig: Error: path was not a regular file. .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus..01.00.0: Error: path was not a regular file. .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: "" .proc.driver.nvidia.suspend: suspend hibernate resume .proc.driver.nvidia.suspend_depth: default modeset uvm .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 535.171.04 Tue Mar 19 20:30:00 UTC 2024 GCC version: ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permissão negada: '/var/log/boot.log' CasperMD5CheckResult: pass CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri May 31 10:46:58 2024 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: noble DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: No GraphicsCard: NVIDIA Corporation TU117 [GeForce GTX 1650] [10de:1f82] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: NVIDIA Corporation TU117 [GeForce GTX 1650] [10de:1f82] InstallationDate: Installed on 2024-05-28 (3 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS "Noble Numbat" - Release amd64 (20240424) MachineType: BIOSTAR Group B450MH ProcEnviron: LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-6.8.0-31-generic root=UUID=f6ec41bd-58a6-4d7d-98a5-a12b191d1aa3 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 05/05/2022 dmi.bios.release: 5.17 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends International, LLC. dmi.bios.version: 5.17 dmi.board.asset.tag: None dmi.board.name: B450MH dmi.board.vendor: BIOSTAR Group dmi.chassis.asset.tag: None dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: BIOSTAR Group dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInternational,LLC.:bvr5.17:bd05/05/2022:br5.17:svnBIOSTARGroup:pnB450MH:pvr:rvnBIOSTARGroup:rnB450MH:rvr:cvnBIOSTARGroup:ct3:cvr:skuNone: dmi.product.family: None dmi.product.name: B450MH dmi.product.sku: None dmi.sys.vendor: BIOSTAR Group version.compiz: compiz N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.120-2build1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 24.0.5-1ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx N/A version.nvidia-graphics-drivers: nvidia-graphics-drivers-* N/A version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:21.1.12-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev N/A version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:22.0.0-1build1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20210115-1build1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.17-2build1 ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug noble ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067738 Title: Error on display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/2067738/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2062951] Re: Random flickering with Intel i915 on Linux 6.8 (Ubuntu 24.04)
Same problem here, using Kubuntu 24.04 on a fresh install (with Xorg). Intermittent flickering of the whole screen; I could not determine a specific pattern that caused it. [Bug 2067672] Re: [SRU] Openssl copyright/changelog.Debian.gz file points at non-existent location
Hi and thanks for the patch. Process-wise, the changes should land in oracular first and I don't think I changed anything regarding that, even in my merge proposal for 3.2.1. I think we can integrate your patch in oracular in the version that follows the 3.2.1 merge (I'd prefer not to respin my current merge request) and which will also include at least afix for https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssl/+bug/1297025 (and maybe a security patch too). lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 23 Feb 21 11:45 /usr/share/doc/libssl- dev/changelog.gz -> ../libssl3/changelog.gz but ../libssl3/changelog.gz doesn't exist.
