[Bug 441330] Re: [ASUSTeK Computer Inc. F5RL] suspend/resume failure

2010-08-17 Thread atany
This problem still exists on Lucid 10.04 with latest updates.
I tried disabling modeset, but this did not help.

When I stop gdm and execute /etc/acpi/sleep.sh the laptop suspends, but
hangs after wakeup.

Hibernate does not seem to work either (hangs when X shows after
wakeup).

[Bug 533083] Re: after pairing with my Nokia9300i by bluetooth no new modem added.

2010-07-11 Thread atany
I experience the same problem with Nokia E65 on Lucid Lynx.
However, I got it working by establishing DUN connection using Blueman.

There is also a separate problem - modem-manager does not recognise
Nokia E65 when connected through USB cable.

[Bug 437862] Re: device key_bitmask has changed

2009-12-22 Thread atany
I confirm this on Karmic, Dell XPS M1330.

It was constantly happening to me on Jaunty too up until the latest
updates (I did not report the bug then because I was running kernel from
mainline-ppa). I have found a workaroud: switchkerboard to raw mode with
magic sysrq key in order to switch to console, login, restart hal,
switch back to X and put keyboard back into normal mode with kbd_mode
-s

Unfortunately, this workaround no longer helps on fresh Karmic install
with the latest updates.

There is another similar bug
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/327175
which is marked as fixed.

[Bug 226509] Re: Dell XPS m1330 multimedia keys don't work in Kubuntu

2009-07-13 Thread atany
It seems there are two parts of this bug:

1. not KDE-specific: extremely low delay value for repeating multimedia keys.
This happened to me after upgrade to Ubuntu Jaunty without KDE.

2. probably KDE-specific: multimedia keys not assigned by default.

2009-06-12 Thread atany
Thanks for fixing the issue.

With the latest update in proposed the killswitch on my system (Dell XPS
M1330, Jaunty amd64) works fine, no errors reported and the wireless is
deactivated and activated automatically when switching killswitch off
and on.

Though, as Motin already mentioned, if killswitch is turned on while the
laptop is suspended the Network Manager reports 'device not ready' after
wake up despite the wireless interface is working (as reported by
iwconfig/iwlist utilities). Restarting the Network Manager helps in this
case. But I think this is not directly related to the issue tracked here
and a new bug report should probably be opened.

2009-06-07 Thread atany
Public bug reported:

Martin, it worked fine some time before, but now it is not. I'm not sure when
exactly it stopped working as I rarely turn off wi-fi.
Switching off wireless disconnects from the network, but NM still constantly

Attached is an obvious patch which fixes the issue.

Attaching lshal output.

I've noticed this typo on my Dell XPS M1330 running Jaunty after a
system crash. The system became unresponsive after Gimp asked to
allocate memory for a 400+Mb file. Then applets (NM and blueman
installed from PPA) start crashing and I had to kill X with magic SysRq
and reboot.

[Bug 138465] Re: CPU frequency gets stuck at the lowest frequency after resume from suspend (ThinkPad T60p)

2009-05-29 Thread atany
I can confirm this bug on Dell XPS M1330 using Jaunty upgraded from Intrepid
(which was working perfectly).
This happens to me not only after suspend/resume but also after I disconnect AC
power and then reconnect it. Frequency is then locked at 800MHz with no related
messages in logs.

As it was already pointed out, directly writing max value to
cpu{0,1}/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq has no effect.

[Bug 292092] Re: Liferea won't run (only within a second)

2008-12-09 Thread atany
I solved this problem by removing Firefox 3.1 and xulrunner 1.9.1
packages installed from https://launchpad.net/~fta/+archive PPA.

With xulrunner 1.9.1 installed I had the same problem on liferea 1.5.5
beta compiled from sources with xulrunner backend enabled. Liferea with
WebKit backend enabled (and xulrunner disabled) did not crash.

[Bug 262594] Re: [intrepid][regression] Fujitsu Siemens Amilo 1650G fails to suspend

2008-11-17 Thread atany
I also have the same issue on MSI L715 laptop under Intrepid. I had no
luck getting hash match in dmesg even after uploading all removable
modules. When I press power button after suspend I can hear CPU fan and
HDD noise, but the screen remains black and the laptop cannot be
accessed through the network (both wired and wireless). If I leave the
system in this state for 15 or more seconds I can hear the CPU fan speed
is increasing to its maximal value. If I press power button for 5
seconds the laptop turns off and after I turn it back on the system
boots up normally (however, I have experienced occasional black screen
gradually changing to gray on boot with earlier fglrx drivers under
Gutsy and Hardy).

Under Hardy the suspend worked fine for me after a couple of changes to
the process: I added scripts to unload wireless card (rt2500) and alsa
drivers before suspend and load them back on wakeup.
