[Bug 760632] Re: Resizing Konsole crashes the whole system

2011-10-15 Thread barbolani
It has been more than six months since this was reported, and the fixed
nVidia driver it is not yet part of the official repository, which makes
me believe that Natty has shipped with this bug, is my logic correct?

[Bug 760632] Re: Resizing Konsole crashes the whole system

2011-10-15 Thread barbolani
Apologies, I meant 11.10, not Natty. Is 11.10 being shipped with the
bug?

Exact same behaviour for me. Upgrading from 10.10 where VirtualBox was
working perfectly.

[Bug 666090] Re: package virtualbox-ose-dkms (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 3

2011-06-21 Thread barbolani
I cleaned up all unused dkms stuff from other versions of VirtualBox in
/var/lib/dkms. Reinstalled and installed the virtualbox-ose-dkms
package, getting again the error.

Then I issued the command:

sudo dkms install -m virtualbox-ose-dkms -v 4.0.4

And now VirtualBox works.

[Bug 325874] Re: [JauntyKdetv does not see/show my tv card (regression)

2009-11-05 Thread barbolani
Sorry, perhaps I've filed this in the wrong place. My card works well in
both Jaunty and Karmic. kdetv worked on Jaunty, but no longer works in
Karmic. tvtime works in Karmic, so I know that it's not a problem with
the card itself.

[Bug 378726] Re: package moodle 1.9.4.dfsg-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade:

2009-07-11 Thread barbolani
Same thing here, I selected the moodle, moodle-book and moodle-debian-
edu-theme in synaptic. The details showed on the progress window showed

subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
moodle-book: dependency problems - leaving unconfigure

Synaptic threw me an error about corrupted package cache after reporting
this error.

Any other info I can provide?

[Bug 130055] Re: Nautilus audio convert script doesn't activate itself

2009-06-02 Thread barbolani
At least in Jaunty, running the nautilus-script-manager enable
ConvertAudioFile reports the error:

Error: no script with that name available

If I copy the script to ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts then it appears in
the context menu and works as advertised.

It looks like this problem has been fixed in Feisty.

Yes, indeed it looks fine in Feisty. I think you can close this bug.

Thanks again for your response. However, I think that I should uninstall
the flash player I have installed directly from Firefox. How can I do that?

 Hello Alfonso,

So the problem is fixed upstream, I am assuming the version you are
using now is 9.x and the version of non-free you are experiencing
 problems with is 7.x?

Can you clarify this for me?

 Thanks, Alex.

While it's correct that the version of flashplugin non-free I was trying
to install was 7.0, I'm not sure about which one were the one I
installed from the Macromedia site. I think that it was 7.0, because
right clicking in flash web content shows the About Flash Player 7.0

Re: [Bug 58808] Re: Flash stalls on install freezing synaptic

2007-02-07 Thread barbolani

Thank you for the bug report, can I ask what version of Ubuntu and which
version of the flashplugin-nonfree you are experiencing problems with?
Can you install it via Synaptic/adept instead of terminal? (I am
presuming not, but its worth a try).

Alex

Thanks for your interest, but now I cannot reproduce the problem as I
installed the flash plugin from Flash site. However, I tried sudo
apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree and the results were the same.

Again, sorry but I wanted to view some flash content and could not wait
more. However, I can help you in any other way don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers

[Bug 58808] Re: Flash stalls on install freezing synaptic

2006-12-25 Thread barbolani
I've experienced the same problem. However I think I can provide a hint.
When install is requested via sudo apt-get install flashplayer-nonfree,
the process halts after a Downloading message.

As a workaround, you can install the Flash player directly within
firefox visiting any page with Flash content and clicking on the puzzle
icon that is shown in place of the missing flash content.

[Bug 38886] Re: File size limit exceeded - smbfs (unable upload larger file than 2GB)

2006-07-31 Thread barbolani
This seems to be a long standing problem with smbfs file system, as I've
seen it happening in other releases. The thing is, you can get files
with sizes over 2GB without problems using the command line tool
smbclient.
