[Bug 1813511] Re: Gnome shell extensions disabled at every wakeup after sleep
In a response on this thread https://askubuntu.com/questions/1039694/18-04-appindicators-disappear- after-every-reboot/1067237#1067237 it is suggested that "The issue is caused by an old Unity app-indicator which is in the system autostart. Remove it with sudo apt remove indicator-application and reboot." I did not want to mess up the system, so I did not try it before confirming. But is it possible that this is the cause and the suggestion is a viable fix? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813511 Title: Gnome shell extensions disabled at every wakeup after sleep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1813511/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1743279] Re: QCA6174 stops working on newer kernels after second group rekeying
Thanks Andre. I am not sure how to confirm whether "the dropouts were happening exactly after the second group rekeying." The apparent behaviour fit the descriptions well, so I assumed it might be related. I saw the following command mentioned (possiblly, for diagnosis), but I was not clear on what to expect): cat /var/log/syslog | grep wpa_.*rekeying How can I confirm whether my problems are related to the second group rekeying? [Bug 1743279] Re: QCA6174 stops working on newer kernels after second group rekeying
Actually, not an upgrade but a downgrade seems to have solved my problem. I have replaced the firmware file /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/firmware-6.bin with firmware-6.bin_WLAN.RM.4.4.1-00065-QCARMSWP-1 (which is what Ubuntu 17.10 might have had) and I have not had a single outage after a whole day. Before the change, the outages were very frequent. So, it seems that the newer firmware files does not play nicely with my WiFi. Hopefully, this could help to rectify the problem on Ubuntu 18.04 with the new driver versions. Please let me know if I can provide further information to help for the diagnosis. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1743279 Title: QCA6174 stops working on newer kernels after second group rekeying To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/1743279/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1743279] Re: QCA6174 stops working on newer kernels after second group rekeying
I think this bug affects me on Ubuntu 18.04 (it had not when I was on 17.10). Following instructions for updating firmware at https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath10k/firmware , I have replaced the firmware file /lib/firmware/ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/firmware-6.bin (which is firmware-6.bin_WLAN.RM.4.4.1-00079-QCARMSWPZ-1) with firmware-6.bin_WLAN.RM.4.4.1-00110-QCARMSWP-1. The problem persists. Re: [Bug 1536582] Re: Thunderbird lost subscribed IMAP folders
Thanks, G. This is no longer a problem. If I am not misremembering, I had later found out that the issue was due to Microsoft's implementation of the IMAP protocol at that time (after they updated their server). It was eventually resolved. [Bug 1536582] [NEW] Thunderbird lost subscribed IMAP folders
Public bug reported: I am an Ubuntu 15.10 and Thunderbird 38.5.1 user. I connect to my employer's Outlook/Office 365 servers via IMAP and SMTP. Thunderbird version: 38.5.1+build2-0ubuntu0.15.10.1 On 20 January 2016, right after receiving a set of updates to some of the installed packages, my Thunderbird client lost all the subscribed IMAP folders (except Inbox and Deleted). Furthermore, even though I can see my folders in the "Subscribe" dialogue window, I cannot seem to resubscribe to them by just ticking folders and hitting "OK". Nothing happens when I do that. When I check again, no folder is subscribed to. I can still receive and send emails, even though I cannot copy messages into my Sent folder, which normally used to happen automatically. As a workaround, unticking "Show only subscribed folders" in Server Settings > Advanced shows all folders on the IMAP server (after a restart), subscribed or not, which is not quite desirable as many unwanted folders pollute the folders list. This happened to me on two separate machines running Ubuntu 15.10. I cannot immediately spot a connection between the updated packages and the problem I described, but I am including the list of the updated packaged below in case it helps. There was also a Thunderbird update six days ago (14 January), but it has been working fine until the updates on 20 January. The problem has been experienced by at least one other person (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2310625). Please let me know whether I can provide any further information to diagnose the problem. Or, if you have any suggestions for me... [Bug 252094] Re: Poor graphics performance and rendering errors on Intel GM965 system, Ubuntu 8.10
I used to have decent performance with Google Earth (GE) on Hardy, but after the upgrade to Intrepid I am having issues with rendering as well. Everything seems fine, but whenever I try to run GE or World Wind Java I get this single error message in /var/log/Xorg.0.log (EE) intel(0): underrun on pipe B! When the window is behind another window rates go up to ~3200 FPS or 16000 frames over 5 sec. I don't recall these behaviors in Hardy. $ glxinfo | grep render direct rendering: Yes OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM 20061102 x86/MMX/SSE2 In HARDY glxinfo would give me a different date for MESA: direct rendering: Yes OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) 945GM 20061017 x86/MMX/SSE2 May be MESA might have something to do with this? I used to have flicker problems on Hardy when I run GE with Compiz, so I keep my compiz turned off. Though I tested to see if it was working and I don't seem to have problems with wobbly windows etc. They seem to work OK. Performance difference with/without DRI on Hardy was 6000/4000 frames with GLX gears and that made a huge difference in GE. Just for the record, afaik GE needs SSE2 as well, and it is supported on the laptop. $ cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep sse2 -o sse2 sse2 In general the performance is OK, but seems like something went wrong with the 3D drivers...
