The crashing problem has stopped, I will keep testing to confirm first.
I opened terminal, imputed:
 echo 1000 | sudo tee /sys/kernel/mm/lru_gen/min_ttl_ms
trashing mitigation
 echo 5 | sudo tee /proc/sys/vm/dirty_ratio
 echo 5 | sudo tee /proc/sys/vm/dirty_background_ratio
prevent stuttering behavior during intense I/O writes

[Bug 2059117] Re: Ubuntu 22.04 crashed repeated times due to last kernel update

2024-03-27 Thread Bernard Stafford
Wiping the drive Ubuntu is installed on.
I am marking this as an invalid bug report.
The Ubuntu 22.04 is now unusable and not fixable with the current kernel.
Not falling back to the previous kernel.

[Bug 1967859] [NEW] Ubuntu 22.04 Desktop Guide add-on

2022-04-05 Thread Bernard Stafford
Public bug reported:

On the Ubuntu Desktop Guide for the new
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish Ubuntu Desktop Guide documentation that is
being wrote.

Include a Firewall category within the Network, Web,
& email section.

The firewall category should link to the UFW wiki page.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UFW
This way new users have information how to configure
the firewall on Ubuntu. Mainly as a security aspect
especially for new enthusiasts starting with Ubuntu that do not know their is a
firewall.
Looking at the current desktop guide for 20.04 LTS
the information for a firewall is missing.

To the Developer for a fix on QA Testing on the Impish Build.
Only to further the progress of the New OS Ubuntu 21.10 Impish.
More testing will need to be accomplished before the due date of 2021-08-19
feature freeze.
Hopefully everything will be finalized before the final release on 2021-10-14.
Time is of the essence. This has to do with the warning after boot only...!
within gnome-shell.
Held back because you are a developer and determined it is not retentive, that
obviously shows up during a live boot session as described during QA Testing. I
suggest Relay this to the developers... Please I will Retest in 2 days..

Daily 20210721 .iso . This Bug was reported in QA Test Live Session.
Just installed .iso in Virtual Box from a download file,
Tested as Live Session, Success. Loaded good everything worked.
Except for some outdated files that apport would not collect.
Most likely files being used until developed ones finish.
Please check your media and .iso checksum.
Could have a corrupt download or bad USB.

On Ubuntu Desktop AMD daily 20210721.This bug report is reported on testing
Live Session.
Notation .iso works good in Virtual Box. Except for some old expired packages
used, still in development; apport would not send report. Image loads fine.
Live session works good.
Please check your media and .iso checksum or gpg.

[Bug 1926963] [NEW] Karma a change in Launchpad karma settings?

2021-05-03 Thread Bernard Stafford
Public bug reported:

Could the Karma settings be changed to reflect the completion of an
entire package translated in Ubuntu Translations? Completing each and
every translation for each package reflect as extra karma points. Some
individuals skip from one translation to another, this is fine. My self
start a the first translation and complete each and every one to the
very last translation for each and every package I accomplish.

Recently I have been translating language for Ubuntu 7 days a week. My Karma
score keeps declining.
As well I have been Answering questions on Ubuntu.
The Karma Score has not reflected work done. These are trying times with the
virus. Why are we declining the Karma Score for hard diligent work accomplished
during these trying times. This is only a slap in the face more or less. These
are only a few. This has been happening for years.
Very discouraging. This needs to be checked. Especially for the individuals
that are uploading code for the next Ubuntu release. Karma should reflect the
input of work being accomplished.

Thank You
Bernard
