[Bug 988509] Re: setoption.pl is not executable

2014-02-17 Thread bingalls
Mario-
What you must do:
1) Do NOT click on the link in Lehotzky László's post.
2) See if you can report Lehotzky László as a phisher, or a compromised account
3) Tell the admin at autul-amin.my that their website may be compromised

None of us fell for this trick, so we don't know that it is not a virus.
Assuming you use Ubuntu, there are very few viruses for Linux, but JavaScript
could do bad things; mostly, steal your online information (password, credit
card currently in use).
However, it sounds like a robot that is trying to get another account (you) to
enter your password.
If you fell for this, change your password. and any similar passwords.

Warning signs:
autul-amin.my does not have a big reputation.
autul-amin.my has nothing to do with Google docs.
autul-amin.my is not using SSL (https)
Lehotzky László has not contributed much to Launchpad.net

and more; these are ones that are difficult to circumvent

[Bug 858289] Re: chromium-browser crashed with SIGSEGV in dri_st_framebuffer_flush_front()

2012-04-18 Thread bingalls
Here is another way to reproduce the bug. Try installing and running
https://github.com/nicooprat/Css2Less
Pretty simple, but requires a few ruby gems, like sinatra.

If it helps, this happened to me, when I had open:
https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Meet+Jenkins
https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Plugins
Then tried opening a new tab with
https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/blob/master/LICENSE.txt

Leafpad Lxterminal (idle) were the only other apps running, on a
recent install.

[Bug 328127] Re: gnome-keyring-daemon returns Agent admitted failure to sign using the key.

2009-11-03 Thread bingalls
I upgraded to Karmic 9.10. Subversion v1.6 now fails, with:
  svn up --username myname

  Password for 'login' GNOME keyring:
svn: OPTIONS of 'http://svn-repository': authorization failed: Could not
authenticate to server: rejected Basic challenge (http://svn-repository)

Note that I am using basic auth, and that my username is not 'login' I
am connecting to a v1.4 svn server. Svn v1.6 worked on Jaunty. I
compiled svn v1.4 from source, and that works on Karmic; it does not
prompt me for the Gnome Keyring.

[Bug 409362] [NEW] gnome panel on side disables virtual desktop keyboard shortcut

2009-08-05 Thread bingalls
Public bug reported:

Changing the properties of the bottom system tray, Gnome Panel, to move
it to the right side, prevents Ctrl-Alt-arrow from switching virtual
desktops.

I am running Jaunty 9.04 with no desktop effects, and standard 2 desktop Gnome
Desktop, with current updates.
Thus, no compiz nor metacity is running.
gnome-panel:
  Installed: 1:2.26.0-0ubuntu7
  Candidate: 1:2.26.0-0ubuntu7
  Version table:
 *** 1:2.26.0-0ubuntu7 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Restoring Gnome Panel to bottom behaves normally again. Mouse clicking on
virtual desktops always works.
(System) Keyboard shortcuts are as shipped, not customized

[Bug 325973] Re: Starting File Manager windows open uncontrollably

2009-03-09 Thread bingalls
This bug affected my Dell Dimension 4700, but did not manifest itself on a 3
year old HP Compaq.
I used the same Jaunty 9.04 Alpha 5 LIVE CD on both boxes. It may help to
report your hardware, with respect to this bug.
Perhaps CMOS settings are relevant, such as PXE boot?
