[Bug 1780494] Re: Firefox 61 Geolocation does not work

2018-07-07 Thread blaamann
Geolocation works again today. The behavior yesterday was similar to
when a valid api key is not provided/or missing in the Firefox build, or
when request quota is exceeded. Sorry for not submitting a full bug
report.

[Bug 1231273] Re: Firefox does not show google geo location map

2014-03-19 Thread blaamann
Thanks. I see this as an improvement, but there are some issues.

1) LAN Ubuntu Firefox version gives no location.
2) LAN Mozilla Firefox downloaded from Mozilla gives no location.
3) LAN Chrome at times give no location (even reports a 404 in the
positionError 2 text). When given it is not accurate as it is probably IP
based.
4) WLAN Mozilla Firefox/Ubuntu Firefox/Chrome all works in all my few test
cases.

So this time around, it may be a mistake on Mozilla parts, or as I
suspect, the Google Geolocation service is not reliable at the moment.
Or a combination.

I tested on latest daily-live 14.04 build and it is still a bug in
Firefox.

As I personally know nobody as a very good Ubuntu developers I have
faith in that this will be fixed soon (fingers crossed).

[Bug 1260302] Re: Firefox does not support Geolocation

2013-12-12 Thread blaamann
** Description changed:

- Firefox does not support Geolocation API.

  Example:
  http://html5demos.com/geo

  or

  https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples
  /map-geolocation

My guess it that this is because Canonical build Firefox without
Geolocation support, or because Firefox for Ubuntu does not include a
Google API key that is needed for Geolocation support. This might be
deliberate or it may be because upstream Mozilla Firefox source code
does not include this API key (they are probably not allowed to include
it). Maybe each distro needs to include their own key.

[Bug 1207487] Re: Brightness Controls work but brightness doesnt change

2013-10-22 Thread blaamann
I am affected by this too after upgrading to 13.10. It worked fine in
12.10 and 13.04.

Using function keys I get an OSD showing brightness level
increasing/decreasing, but screen brightness does not change.

This is on an Lenovo laptop running upgradet 13.10 with Intel Graphics
using i915.

Setting brightness with 'echo 350 >
/sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness' does work for me.

[Bug 1048024] Re: nothing from Empathy shows up in "irc" search in Software Center

2012-10-10 Thread blaamann
Searching for IRC does not list a bunch of relevant IRC application. E.g
Irssi and Weechat is not listed in the search result.

Even worse, IRC support is not installed by default in Empathy in 12.10
(this should probably be a seperate bug report)

Is IRC support available in Empathy in 12.10?
e@B570e:~$ apt-cache search account-plugin-irc
account-plugin-irc - Messaging account plugin for IRC

Is it installed?
e@B570e:~$ dpkg -l | grep account-plugin-irc
e@B570e:~$

This is bad.

[Bug 94148] Re: atheros wifi card drop connection and low signal

This is a problem for me as well.

This is my card:
01:06.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5006X 802.11abg NIC
(rev 01)

The difference between Feisty and Debian Etch is that in both the signal
strength was low, but in Debian it connected and stayed connected. This
is a BIG problem in Feisty.
