[Bug 1027553] [NEW] plasma netbook lock/logout broken after upgrade to 4.9 rc2
Public bug reported: Running stock kubuntu 12.04 and upgraded through the backports ppa to KDE 4.9 rc2. The plasma widget for lock/logout in the plasma netbook interface turned to a red block with a white x on it. I had to unlock the panel, remove the broken widget and re-add the lock/logout widget. ** Affects: kde-workspace (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1027553 Title: plasma netbook lock/logout broken after upgrade to 4.9 rc2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-workspace/+bug/1027553/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 986921] Re: Kubuntu ubiquty uses 100% CPU after failed ntfs mount
md5sum was verified. Install went fine as long as the ntfs partition was not included as a mount point during installation. [Bug 986921] [NEW] Kubuntu ubiquty uses 100% CPU after failed ntfs mount
Public bug reported: Kubuntu 12.04 Live CD install (downloaded April 21, 2012 nightly build) Selected manual partition option and included an ntfs partition as one of the partitions. After formatting the / partition, Ubiquity reported that it could not mount the ntfs partition and gave the option to go back or continue. Go back actually didn't, and selecting continue appeared to work at least for setting time zone and keyboard layout. After that, though, no activity, other than the Ubiquity splash screens. Opening a terminal window, top showed that Ubiquity was using 100% CPU. After 15 minutes, I killed the Ubiquity task and restarted the install. This time, I did not choose to mount the ntfs partition in the manual partitioning step and all proceeded as expected. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/986921 Title: Kubuntu ubiquty uses 100% CPU after failed ntfs mount To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/986921/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 928849] [NEW] windows appear under unity launcher
Public bug reported: Upgraded from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04 alpha 2. Windows open maximized but under the launcher at the left side of the screen when the launcher is in the always visible mode. Pressing the maximize button on the window (top menu bar) causes the window to correctly un-maximize. Then pressing maximize again causes the expected behavior of the the window maximizing up to the edge of the launcher, but not underneath it. After doing this for one window, all windows seem to work properly now. It acts as if the launcher, when unity first loads, does not reset the screen boundaries. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/928849 Title: windows appear under unity launcher To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/928849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 928858] [NEW] Wireless not working after clean install 12.04 alpha 2 alternate cd
Public bug reported: Did a clean install of 12.04 alpha 2 from the alternate cd. While in the cd, wireless worked. Upon booting into Ubuntu from the hard drive, both eth0 and wlan0 were recognized, but I was unable to actually get wlan0 to see any network SIDs or connect manually to them (using the network manager). Eth0 worked as expected. The wireless driver is the ath9k. I did a reinstall of 11.10 and then upgraded to 12.04 alpha 2 and wireless worked as expected. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/928858 Title: Wireless not working after clean install 12.04 alpha 2 alternate cd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/928858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 473629] Re: [Dell Inc. Precision M90] hibernate/resume failure [non-free: nvidia]
Hi again Jeremy - sorry for the back and forth on this, but once I got thinking about hibernate with a Live CD my mind kind of imploded. :) Since hibernate is supposed to write the system state to disk (but I'm running Live without disk) ... uhh, where does Live write to when I hibernate? Also when I boot up I'm guessing normal hibernate mode maybe alters the boot loader or something to bypass normal OS selection, etc. and I'm confused what's going to happen at boot-time -- if I'm supposed to try to boot to the Live CD again at that point or what. -- [Dell Inc. [Bug 332945] Re: [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information
What happened to the wide-spread usability principle that modal dialogs (aka, an unwanted update window) are BAD? The notification area IS an abused swamp (Shuttleworth's words) IN WINDOWS, where every vendor shoves their logo in your face. But it is NOT a swamp UNDER UBUNTU. I have only five VERY USEFUL icons in my notification area. If I forget what they are I just mouse-over. Let's not take lessons from Vista and shove unexpected message windows in front of the user every five minutes. My mother-in-law can barely use Vista because the pop-up modality of it prevents her from simply learning the few tasks she needs to do. -- [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332945 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
