[Bug 1866928] [NEW] app does not allow "select all" content

2020-03-10 Thread bzb001
Public bug reported:

Lubuntu 19.10
qterminal 0.14.1

This app currently does not permit a menu item to select all content in
the console. A shortcut key would also be convenient.

Permitting a "select all" menu item would allow a user to quickly select
all contents displayed in the console for processing in another
application (eg. editor). Currently, qterminal only allows mouse
highlighting. If there is a lot of text, it becomes time consuming.

ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.10
Package: qterminal 0.14.1-0ubuntu1
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.3.0-40.32-generic 5.3.18

[Bug 1865855] Re: Network configuration does not allow importion of vpn configuration

2020-03-09 Thread bzb001
I added the package network-manager-openvpn and now using the ConnectionManager
I can find the option to load a configuration from file. The issue now is that
it does not allow me to save the entry. Could you tell me where I should report
this bug?
Thanks

[Bug 1865851] Re: pcmanfm-qt item selection feature in single-click mode

2020-03-09 Thread bzb001
How would you make the first selection without activating the item?
Currently what I do is right click on the entry--resulting in a popup
menu--and then right click again to remove the menu. There is no other
place to left click to make the first selection.

I think I understand what you're getting at with point 1. Are you saying
I'm not supposed to click anywhere associated with an entry on the
target instance of pcmanfm when giving focus?

[Bug 1865852] Re: QuickLaunch widget on Panel config fails

2020-03-04 Thread bzb001
I haven't read the manual for the quick launch widget and assumed that if the
gear icon was enabled, I would expect a dialog prompting to add target
applications to it. Since it was disabled, I thought it strange.
Nevertheless, if this is the way to configure the quick launch, it works for me.
Thanks

[Bug 1865855] Re: Network configuration does not allow importion of vpn configuration

2020-03-03 Thread bzb001
I'm getting confused. Is this a lubuntu issue or a lxqt issue? All I
know is that in lubuntu 18.xx using lxde, Network Configurator provides
an option to import a configuration from file.

[Bug 1865853] Re: lxqt desktop does not allow alt-f2 to run typed commands

2020-03-03 Thread bzb001
Walter,
Meta-R works for me too. The reason I reported this was simply because in
Lubuntu 18.xx, alt-f2 was the default. As a result, I thought something was
amiss.
Could you provide a link to doc that gives other shortcut keys in lxqt?
Thanks

[Bug 1865851] Re: pcmanfm-qt item selection feature in single-click mode

2020-03-03 Thread bzb001
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected eoan

** Description changed:

  lubuntu 19.10
  pcmanfm-qt 0.14.1

when pcmanfm-qt is configured to use single-click mode...

1)when the pcmanfm window is given focus
Currently, when placing the focus on pcmanfm the item clicked would be
activated.
I suggest the first click anywhere on pcmanfm when given focus should be
ignored as a command to activate an item.

  2)selecting an item
Currently, clicking anywhere on an entry would activate the entry. This
condition causes a lot of inconvenience especially when you just want to click
on an item to highlight it.
I suggest only the "name" column clicked should the item be activated.
Anywhere else should be considered a selection request.

  3)auto selection
Currently, auto selection is active always. This is very distracting and
defeating when trying to rename a file and because the cursor has accidentally
moved to another entry the renaming process is disrupted.
I suggest the following sequence for item selection...
user clicks on first item (not clicking on "name" column, as clicking on
this column would activate item, except when ctl or shift key is depressed
while clicking)
user ctl-click on any subsequent entries to highlight it and include into
list of selected items
user shift-click to toggle all items between the last selected item and
current item
user clicks on any other item will reset the selection and highlight only
that item
suggestion#2: Is auto selection really necessary? It seems more inconvenient
then useful

[Bug 1468914] [NEW] 'amixer' can mute the speaker but it cannot unmute it.

2015-06-25 Thread bzb001
Public bug reported:

My system:
Lubuntu 15.04 64bit.
Currently using hp laptop model# 15-r174ca.

'amixer' can mute the speaker but it cannot unmute it.

I used the following command to toggle mute/unmute the speaker. The
console output status indicated that the command completed successfully.
The problem is that the speaker once muted, cannot be unmuted using the
following commands. I had to manually click on the volume applet on the
desktop in order to unmute it.

$ amixer -c 1 sset Master toggle
Simple mixer control 'Master',0
  Capabilities: pvolume pvolume-joined pswitch pswitch-joined
  Playback channels: Mono
  Limits: Playback 0 - 87
  Mono: Playback 18 [21%] [-51.75dB] [off]
17:14:41:(3),jobs=0,cmd#=2,hist#=77

$ amixer -c 1 sset Master toggle

  Capabilities: pvolume pvolume-joined pswitch pswitch-joined
  Playback channels: Mono
  Limits: Playback 0 - 87
  Mono: Playback 18 [21%] [-51.75dB] [on]

I also tried using the following. It still does not work. ie. I cannot
unmute the speaker using the command. Console message seems ok but the
speaker does not turn back on.

$ amixer -c 1 sset Master mute
