[Bug 585765] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 random freezes

2010-07-14 Thread catchmeifyoutry
@Montblanc, eh, I seem to have missed something, where was it concluded
that it doesn't happen on AMD Athlon 64 X2, or AMD Turion 64 processors?

I see multiple reports here using AMD64, and I myself have random
complete system freezes on my AMD Athlon 64 dual core.

Running Ubuntu 10.04
Kernel 2.6.32-23-generic
Gnome 2.30.2
Memory 3.2 Gib
Processor 0: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+
Processor 1: (identical to proc. 0, since it's dual core)

PS.:
I already started getting freezes when running "partimage" (after installing
from the internet) on the 10.04 LIVE CD.
I hoped the live CD freeze was an isolated incident that a kernel update and
proper installation would resolve (it didn't).
Running partimage with the live CD was a sure shot for a freeze.

[Bug 239658] Re: Picture Tile Extension fails to install

2009-12-06 Thread catchmeifyoutry
The f-spot picturetile extension requires picturetile.pl to be installed, which
is just a simple perl script.
See the f-spot extesion page here:
http://f-spot.org/Extensions#PictureTile_integration_for_photowall_generation
However, this is not clear from installing the extension at all. It should come
packed with picturetile, or picturetile should be in the repos and f-spot can
inform the user to install picturetile first.

I've just posted how to install it for now on the forum:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8452421#post8452421

[Bug 260950] Re: f-spot slideshow shows strange effetcs on the first photo

2009-08-27 Thread catchmeifyoutry
Hi,
I remember having the same bug for ages. However, I just downloaded version
0.6.1.0 from getdeb.net and this is the first time that _i noticed_ that the
transition from first to second slide doesn't flash white. Not so sure which
bugfix resolved this but it appears that this behavior was fixed. Hopefully the
next ubuntu release will also have this bugfix.
Running 9.10 (Jaunty) 32bit, no compiz enabled (and I did have this bug before
without compiz as well).

[Bug 367724] Re: firefox does not open archive manager for tgz files

2009-06-24 Thread catchmeifyoutry
I'm having the same problem when trying to download certain archives from the
web with firefox. It suggests using "Archive Manager", but then when I say to
open the file with it it gives the same error message as Peter.
Example of a problematic file on the web can be found at:
http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/V.Kolmogorov/software.html
and then try to open any of the .tar.gz files.
Running Firefox 3.0.11 on Ubuntu 9.04.
