[Bug 342946] Re: intermitten buzzing from speakers using hda-intel alsa on dell mini 9 jaunty netbook remix
This also happens on my Aspire One with Jaunty installed (the regular Jaunty, not NBR), and also most commonly with Pidgin notifications. I turned the notifications for Pidgin off, and don't seem to experience this anymore. -- intermitten buzzing from speakers using hda-intel alsa on dell mini 9 jaunty netbook remix https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342946 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 279450] Re: After intrepid upgrade, gnome session won't start unless logging into "failsafe gnome"
This happened to me as well, and setting the session to GNOME fixed it; however, when trying to run the guest session, it seems to be running the Xclient script still, since it just hangs on a black screen like it did when I uses to login to my normal user account. Any idea how to fix this, or at least fix the Xclient script? -- After intrepid upgrade, gnome session won't start unless logging into "failsafe gnome" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279450 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 276594] Re: New default Intrepid wallpaper is green
It *was* brought up in ubuntu-art. This discussion has already made the rounds there, see this post: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-art/2008-October/008079.html The final reply was: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-art/2008-October/008089.html To quote from that message: "We aren't the official art team, that is left to Canonical and their team of professional artists. We work on community themes and wallpapers, and if Mark likes one of our themes, he will use it." In other words, it's still a community mailing list, with no real link to the actual Art Team. Speaking of community themes and wallpapers, there are many excellent examples in the Artwork wiki. NewHuman and Dust are current theme favorites, but I would understand if Ubuntu wouldn't want to use dark menus for the default theme. Even so, this bug isn't even about the theme (although a lot of people were let down that there was no new theme included), but the wallpaper, and numerous other wallpapers have been pointed out in this thread alone. This discussion has made the rounds at the Ubuntu Forums several times as well. Someone at the forums said it was unproductive to complain there, since the devs don't usually read the forums; that's why I think this bug exists. If there's a *more* appropriate venue for these concerns, do tell. (Oh yeah, and just so there's no confusion: I think the current Ibex wallpaper is , to put it bluntly, ugly. My first reaction to seeing it was "eurgh". I'm pretty sure I've never had that sort of reaction to previous Ubuntu wallpapers. Even a "meh" sort of reaction would be an improvement.) -- New default Intrepid wallpaper is green https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276594 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 184817] Re: unable to lock screen with ctrl - alt - L if numlock is on
Oops, apparently the reason my screen wouldn't lock was because the option "Show position of pointer when Control Key is pressed" in the Mouse Preferences was ticked. Unticking this option solved the problem. On a related note, should a new bug be opened for this (that keyboard shortcuts don't work properly when this option is ticked)? -- unable to lock screen with ctrl - alt - L if numlock is on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/184817 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

After a bout of updates, I started experiencing this problem in Hardy. Before Ctrl+ALt_L worked fine; now it doesn't work whether numlock is on or not. [Bug 243520] Re: Firefox Crashes During the Night(?)
I have the exact same bug. Same symptoms (leave firefox overnight and it crashes) and the exact same final messages in the output before it aborts. And I also have Adblock 0.7.5.5 :D I haven't tried disabling Adblock Plus yet, but will try to confirm (yeah, I'm basically just confirming the original bug report ^^). -- Firefox Crashes During the Night(?) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243520 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 145153] Re: Nikon D40 mass storage not accessible via USB
Same problem here, using a Nikon D40. Can someone confirm whether this problem is fixed with a new kernel, and what version it is? I can import photos when setting the mode to PTP as mentioned above. [Bug 162035] Dbus fails to start sometimes after installing RT kernel
Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 7.10. Recently I installed the real time kernel from the standard Ubuntu repositories (2.6.22-14-rt). After installing it, I think dbus fails to start at boot sometimes. At first I thought it was a problem with gnome-settings-daemon, because it wouldn't start and was the most obvious error, but then I noticed that Tracker wouldn't work correctly, and that I couldn't even lock my screen. The problem was that none of these applications could connect to dbus. When I run dbus- monitor in the terminal, I get the error: Failed to open connection to session message bus: Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-cZvDXoT3nt: Connection refused A similar error appears when I run other programs that need to connect to dbus in the terminal. This doesn't happen regularly; sometimes, when I boot up everything is ok. But the problem occurs around 50% of the time. It isn't an isolated incident, either; please refer to the following discussions in the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=605974 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=587410 Some posts seem to confirm that the problems started after the installation of the RT kernel, and that the root cause is that nothing can connect to dbus. The problems reported don't have conclusive resolutions in the threads either. I'm not sure what logs, etc. are needed, so please tell me what other information you need. Thanks. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Dbus fails to start sometimes after installing RT kernel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162035 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
