[Bug 363994] [NEW] hddtemp does not detect temperature correctly

2009-04-20 Thread chunchengch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hddtemp

I just notice the temperature of hard disk displayed in conky is stuck
to 36C, but I run hdsentinel to confirm the actual temperature is 40C.

I guess the package hddtemp 0.3-beta15-45 in Ubuntu 9.04 does not
correctly detect the temperature of hard disk.

[Bug 364022] [NEW] can not preview thumbnail of media file in nautilus

2009-04-20 Thread chunchengch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Just few days ago, I found some .rmvb media files could not be previewed
in nautilus, but some could, then I upgrade the Ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04, the
problem persists.

I ever tried to remove ~/.thumbnails and then re-open nautilus to re-
create the thumbnails, but after that, all the .rmvb media files can not
be previewed.

Is there any solution for it? thanks.

[Bug 363635] Re: Screensaver does not work in 9.04

2009-04-19 Thread chunchengch
1. I set the screensaver to random, I ever tried the others, nothing different.
2. It does work when using preview option, but one thing weird is that I have
to click the arrow left first and then the arrow right to activate the preview,
otherwise nothing will be displayed in the preview windows.

I just set the time limit to one minute and try it again, the problem
persists.

[Bug 351561] [NEW] Nautilus non-responding when click in side panel tree

2009-03-30 Thread chunchengch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I am not sure if it is a bug or not?

When I open nautilus and click folder /usr/share in side panel, then the
nautilus just freezes and stops responding as the screenshot shows, and
if I forcibly close it, the conky will be terminated at the same time, I
just got this problem few hours ago, and don't know what really cause
it?

The recent changes I made to my Ubuntu 8.10 are

1. remove OpenOffice 3.0 and re-install OpenOffice 2.4
2. remove package language-support-translations-zh for OpenOffice

Thanks for help.

I go into System / Administration / Login Screen Setup / Themed Greeter,

[Bug 292982] Re: can not change CPU frequency policy

can this be solved? thanks!

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: conky
+ Binary package hint:

I upgraded my Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 on last Saturday.

I set the CPU frequency policy to be 'performance' in the gconf-editor
(apps gnome-power-manager cpufreq policy_ac), however, every time
I boot the computer, it always adopts the policy 'ondemand'.

I installed the cpufreq-selector and added the module acpi-cpufreq to

I add the following lines to /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com intrepid main universe
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates main universe
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com intrepid-proposed main universe

but the Synaptic asks for PUBKEY ECDCAD72428D7C01

How can I get it? thanks.

[Bug 293441] Re: gedit not responding in 8.10

2008-11-04 Thread chunchengch
1. Thanks for the command to add gpg key, I learn one more thing.

2. It is not the permission problem.

I tried to edit my .conkyrc file, so I used mouse to click on the file
as I did in Ubuntu 7.04 to 8.04, the gedit window appeared, but few
seconds later, the window turned into black and did not respond any
more.

Then I tried to use command 'gedit ~/.conkyrc' in terminal, the same
situation happened as I used mouse, finally, the file was opened with
command 'sudo gedit ~/.conkyrc'.

[Bug 292980] [NEW] the webcam is still on after Cheese is closed

2008-11-03 Thread chunchengch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cheese

I am using ASUS F3Jc notebook with a built-in webcam Syntek DC-1125,
this webcam worked normally in Ubuntu 8.04 without the need to install extra
driver.

I upgraded my Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 on last Saturday, and found the light
of webcam is still on after Cheese is closed, the only way to shutdown
the webcam is to power off the computer. (reboot can not shutdown the
webcam, that is weird)

Not sure if the problem is coursed by driver of Cheese, so I also report
a bug in GNOME.

[Bug 292983] [NEW] can not adjust the volume with combined keys Fn+F11 and Fn+F12

2008-11-03 Thread chunchengch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: realplay

Like Ubuntu 8.04, Ubuntu 8.10 uses pulseaudio as the sound sever, but I
notice that I can activate only one media program at a time, otherwise,
the other program has no sound output, of course, the system sound is
also disabled. this problem occurred in Ubuntu 8.04, I just wonder why
six months later, Ubuntu 8.10 still has the same problem?

I solved this problem by editing /etc/pulse/default.pa to modify the
following two lines

#load-module module-alsa-sink
load-modul module-suspend-on-idle

to

load-module module-alsa-sink device=dmix
#load-modul module-suspend-on-idle

but I got another problem with this modification, I can not adjust the
volume with combined keys Fn+F11 and Fn+F12 , this did not happen in
Ubuntu 8.04, I tried many times to solve it but still no success.

[Bug 292982] [NEW] can not change CPU frequency policy

2008-11-03 Thread chunchengch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: conky

I upgraded my Ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10 on last Saturday.

I set the CPU frequency policy to be 'performance' in the gconf-editor
(apps gnome-power-manager cpufreq policy_ac), however, every time
I boot the computer, it always adopts the policy 'ondemand'.

I installed the cpufreq-selector and added the module acpi-cpufreq to
/etc/modules, but no helps.

2008-11-03 Thread chunchengch
Thanks for reply.

This bug not only affects realplayer but the whole system, I just
selected the wrong package when I reported the bug.

To clarify the problem, I can adjust the backlight of screen with
combined keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6, but can not adjust volume of the system
with Fn+F11 and Fn+F12.

Thanks for any clue and solution.
