I think I saw a now known bug with powernow but theys till havent fixed it
...!
Its odd how some distros are fine though , pclinuxos(mandriva based ) has no
problems for example.
say while am on , you dont know much about xorg by chance do you??
(thought would ask have a problem cant suss - trying to get gui on a sun
ultra sparc with an ati rage video card - ahh such fun !! )

Hardware is an Asus A8N motherboard with an Nvidia nforce4 chipset.
I can provide any information you might ask for to help debug this. I'm
a strong techie, but more or less a zero when it comes to the kernel. I
once typed the kernel debug trap keystroke combination by mistake. That
was fun.
Anyhow, let me know what I can do to help debug this.
