Unfortunately I can not confirm whether this problem still persists in natty. The hardware configuration this bug occured on, does not exist any more. I forgot to mention that the connection between the graphics card and the monitor has changed from analog to DVI (digital input). It also occured to me that the originally attaced screenshot looks perfectly normal, when the nvidia-driver is disabled. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-settings Under Hardy, a GeForce 3D Prophet III Ti500 graphics card worked perfectly under the nvidia-driver environment in connection with an analog monitor. Switching to a flat-panel LCD display (Eizo FlexScan S2231), the display was detected correctly but reproduction of colours is wrong, beginning with the login-prompt. The problem goes away, when the nvidia-driver is beeing disabled. The problem is persistent under Hardy, Intrepid und Jaunty, probably driver-related.
