[Bug 966451] Re: When xscreensaver/xlockmore isn't properly stopped, the upgrade leads to a broken system
The dialog regarding xscreensaver/xmorelock just was shown to me when trying to upgrade from 20.04 to 21.10 (running do-release-upgrade in the shell). Upgrade is still running, keeping fingers crossed it will work properly. As there is no information on how to properly disable xscreensaver/xmorelock, I find this message a bit unhelpful. To exaggerate, it reads like "The installation might go wrong and lock yourself out of the system. If you want to prevent that, then go find out by yourself how to do that. Good Luck!" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966451 Title: When xscreensaver/xlockmore isn't properly stopped, the upgrade leads to a broken system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/update-manager/+bug/966451/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1600599] Re: Thermald is totally broken, or its default configuration is
Just had similar episodes as what is described here. My CPU apparently was close to overheating (though the maximum temperature I afterwards observed was 95°C, with a specified high/max of 100°C). The Ubuntu 18.04 on my laptop (Asus Zenbook UX301LA) consistently became unresponsive after starting high-cpu-usage tasks (compiling something using ninja-build); after stopping the thermald service, the unresponsiveness was gone even when running the high-cpu-usage tasks for a long time. The unresponsiveness is quite severe: Though I did manage one time to switch to the tty1 and log in there, I could never enter any more commands there (waiting for approximately a minute or so...). I eventually always had to resort to more harsh methods of restarting the laptop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1600599 Title: Thermald is totally broken, or its default configuration is To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thermald/+bug/1600599/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1384942] Re: qt5-qmake reports that it could not exec qt4 qmake
Thanks a lot for those hints! Using qmake -qt5 is not an option since some programs (e.g. cmake) run qmake themselves to check which qt is available. There's no (easy) way to pass in such an additional parameter; but installing qt5-default did the trick, thanks again! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1384942 Title: qt5-qmake reports that it could not exec qt4 qmake To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qtbase-opensource-src/+bug/1384942/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1384942] [NEW] qt5-qmake reports that it could not exec qt4 qmake
Public bug reported: When installing only qt5-qmake (which has no dependency on qt4-qmake as far as I can tell), it shows: qmake ubuntu 14.04 qmake: could not exec '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/qt4/bin/qmake': No such file or directory When I install qt4-qmake it runs, but then it runs qt4 qmake. I only want to have qt5 qmake (or at least be able to only run that). My workaround is to create a soft link from /usr/lib/x86_64-linux- gnu/qt4/bin/qmake to '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/bin/qmake, but that's not a proper solution. [Bug 992198] Re: Nautilus file copy dialog doesn't show in ALT-TAB on Unity 2D
Tried all of the actions mentioned here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1924417 None helped (well, for starters, there isn't a file copying icon in the status bar), but the other two also don't work. Also wmctrl -R didn't help, all it did was make nautilus windows completely invisible - No window to be seen anymore, nothing happens, i.e. no window shows up when I either do Alt-TAB to Nautilus (where still a Nautilus icon is shown in the list), nor when I click on the Nautilus icon in the dock or whatever the place with all the application icons is called. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/992198 Title: Nautilus file copy dialog doesn't show in ALT-TAB on Unity 2D To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-2d/+bug/992198/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Right clicking on Nautilus, and then on the Show Copy Dialog entry also doesn't do anything. [Bug 1096115] Re: Launcher gets confused about which icons relate to which applications
For me this happens with self-created .desktop files in ~/.local/share/applications. I have two files in there. One was copied from the other, but both Name and and Icon in both are different When I now try to start the last created application, it shows the correct icon, but the wrong application name. I have changed the file gradually, so maybe the folder was indexed at a time when the Name was wrong but the icon right (although I actually changed in the other order as far as I remember, first Name and then Icon).
