I'd prefer to keep working on this package, for 3 reasons : 1st : You didn't asked me before making your first upload 2nd : the version which is in REVU is slightly different from the Dépomaniak's one 3rd : I'm working actively in order to make a package well done since the 1.7.1 version, so for 5 months now, and I'm in close contacts with the developer, for correcting bugs, and making a suitable tarball for packaging. [Bug 94713] eth1 interface wakes up after sudo ifconfig eth1 down
Public bug reported: Since few days, when I turn on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000), I have eth0 eth1 active at boot, but only eth0 is used, eth1 is the wifi card, and I don't use it. So, I do a sudo ifconfig eth1 down, but less than a minute later, eth1 has woke up. But when I check just after typing the command, eth1 doesn't appears, so she's inactive, and she turns on without any human action. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager This bug was marked corrected, but in Feisty Herd4 it's not repaired. I tried on my laptop (Dell INSPIRON 6000), and it directly connected it to my neighbours WiFi. I tried on my desktop (without any wifi card, only Ethernet), and it was impossible to configure de network using the network-manager. The only way I succeed, it was by editing the /etc/network/interfaces file in order to set my IP Address, mask, and gateway. And editing the /etc/resolv.conf file, to set my DNS servers. I also tried on a virtual machine, emulated by vmware, and it was the same as my desktop PC. So, I hope you will find something to correct it. Thank you.
