[Bug 665993] Re: [maverick] iwl3945 not working after upgrade from lucid
sudo modprobe acer-wmi obviously doesn't work for us HP folks (no such device message), but blacklisting hp_wmi works like a charm! Many thanks to klerfayt. I also have an HP Pavilion dv2000. I haven't run speed tests yet, but my feeling is that it's performing very well. klerfayt, would you mind explaining to me how you knew to do what you did? -- [maverick] iwl3945 not working after upgrade from lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665993 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 665993] [NEW] [maverick] iwl3945 not working after upgrade from lucid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.35-22-generic After upgrading to Maverick (ubuntu 10.10), my wifi would refuse to turn on. I am using wicd, but I think that the kernel is the problem, since - when I use the 2.6.32-25 kernel, the wifi works - other users have reported this problem with nm (and an ath, interestingly) as well: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1592876 I tried sudo iwconfig wlan0 txpower on to no avail - Tx-power still showed up as off, and the light didn't turn on. My laptop has an external wifi switch - did nothing. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [maverick] iwl3945 not working after upgrade from lucid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665993 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 133133] Re: Open containing folder is only working if nautilus is present
Not entirely sure if this is related, but I had the exact problem described at http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=69035 and the solution there fixed it. What happened there was that firefox was using EasyTag instead of konqueror/dolphin. Now, while this is slightly different, the fact is that firefox seems to be using /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache for information about file associations, because when I removed EasyTag from there, Firefox started using Dolphin. Oddly, the next option (which I didn't delete) was Thunar, but this, apparently, was ignored. -- Open containing folder is only working if nautilus is present https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133133 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
