I observe a hang in X / Wayland which can be fixed by adding the
following line to my /etc/default/grub. I wonder if this bug can be
fixed in a more generalized way.

[Bug 1308159] [NEW] QtCreator shows no main menu in gnome3

2014-04-15 Thread dfeurle
Public bug reported:

Im using ubuntu 14.04 prerelease. The version of qtcreator is
3.0.1-0ubuntu4.

The main menu is missing from QtCreator when started under gnome3.
It is missing right from the start so it isn't difficult to reproduce.
The menu can not be opened with the mouse or by keyboard.
Qtcreator (also 3.0.1) from digia does not have the same defect when running
under gnome3.

See the attached screenshot that shows the defect.

[Bug 933664] [NEW] winbind4 in nsswitch.conf spawns a lot of processes

2012-02-16 Thread dfeurle
Public bug reported:

I have a working setup of samba4. Both wbinfo -g and wbinfo -u work on
ubuntu precise (current alpha2 + patches).

When adding winbind to nsswitch.conf a lot of samba processes are
spawned when issuing getent passwd. That leaves the system unusable.
Nothing is logged to /var/log/samba/log.winbindd and
/var/log/samba/log.samba.

These are the original lines from nsswitch.conf:

passwd: compat
group: compat

changed to:

passwd: compat winbind
group: compat winbind

Before adding winbind 14 samba -d processes exist. Some seconds after
issuing getent passwd after adding winbind some ~100 processes exist.
This goes until all system memory is used and the kernel kills some
processes due to out of memory exceptions.
