[Bug 1525511] Re: Trying to install Ubuntu 14.040.3 lts on a Asus J1900I-C with 1 SSD as \ and a HD as \home
Hello, I try reinstalling : / on SSD as sda and /home on HD as sdb (as well as a swap partition), as follows: / on /sda/sda1 /home on /dev/sdb1 swap on /dev/sdb5 Does not boot again: Access with install key ('try ubuntu') On sda1, there is a /boot folder, in which there is a grub folder. After several changes in the boot menu, it finally started (CSM must be activated to boot from SATA devices!) Sorry for this request that shouldn't have come up! Thanks for your help! [Bug 1525511] Re: Trying to install Ubuntu 14.040.3 lts on a Asus J1900I-C with 1 SSD as \ and a HD as \home
Hello, I plan on trying again tomorrow, in the light of your comment. I thought I told the installer to map / to sda (SSD) and /home to sdb (HD), but I certainly missed something. I've not seen the option to say where to install grub (but I have to admit I didn't look for either!). Anyway, I guess it should by default use the partition choosen for / ? I'll keep you informed.
