[Bug 357457] Re: fglrx causing APIC errors on AMD 780G
I finally tracked why my computer would pause for 2 minutes every so often. Typically I would hit reset, but today I left the machine running and within 2 mins the screen came back to life. While the screen was frozen other users network connections running though my machine worked perfectly, it was just the screen that was locked up. I have tried the latest AMD drivers as well. [Bug 328436] [NEW] SASL/GSSAPI ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s Can't contact LDAP Server
Public bug reported: Bug Description: OpenLDAP, Kerberos5 are installed, but when trying to use, for eg, ldapwhoami, openldap reports: ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP Server I have built two virtual machines, one running Intrepid amd64 and one with Jaunty amd64. Description:Ubuntu jaunty (development branch) Release:9.04 Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 Both have the same packages installed, obviously with the latest version for each distribution. On both I can login to the LDAP database using SIMPLE, but when I use GSSAPI on Jaunty it does not work, works fine on Intrepid. I am not sure which package is causing the problem in Jaunty, so I have put the bug under slapd. [Bug 273075] Re: MP4Box buffer overflow detected
Thank you for that, gpac finally builds and installs but still doesn't work. But I seem to have moved on, since I am converting to play on Play Station 3 I now convert to .m2st files. I am not sure where I got the script, but it does use tsMuxeR (http://www.smlabs.net/tsmuxer_en.html) I can now convert a 1GB matroska file in under 1 minute. Totem and VLC play the files perfectly and there is no need to remix the surround sound channels. The mp4box error is: MP4Box -add temp.h264 -add temp.aac -fps 23.976 -nosys -new temp.mp4 *** buffer overflow detected ***: MP4Box terminated === Backtrace: = /lib/libc.so.6(__fortify_fail+0x37)[0x7f9085154887] /lib/libc.so.6[0x7f9085152750] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(chpl_New+0x39)[0x7f90856ee349] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_parse_box+0xd1)[0x7f9085707561] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(udta_Read+0x3d)[0x7f90856ef34d] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_parse_box+0x13b)[0x7f90857075cb] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_read_box_list+0x32)[0x7f90857079f2] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_parse_box+0x13b)[0x7f90857075cb] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_parse_root_box+0x4a)[0x7f9085707ada] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_parse_movie_boxes+0x6a)[0x7f908570d8ca] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_isom_open_file+0xd0)[0x7f908570dca0] /usr/lib/libgpac-0.4.4.so(gf_media_import+0xcd)[0x7f9085777fbd] MP4Box[0x41766c] MP4Box[0x4083cb] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe6)[0x7f9085073466] MP4Box[0x4068b9] === Memory map: 0040-00424000 r-xp 08:02 468163 /usr/bin/MP4Box 00623000-00627000 r--p 00023000 08:02 468163 /usr/bin/MP4Box 00627000-00628000 rw-p 00027000 08:02 468163 /usr/bin/MP4Box 0159b000-01f2 rw-p 0159b000 00:00 0 [heap] 7f90841c-7f90841d6000 r-xp 08:02 1802304 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 7f90841d6000-7f90843d6000 ---p 00016000 08:02 1802304 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 7f90843d6000-7f90843d7000 r--p 00016000 08:02 1802304 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 7f90843d7000-7f90843d8000 rw-p 00017000 08:02 1802304 /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 7f90843d8000-7f90843da000 r-xp 08:02 1802266 /lib/libdl-2.8.90.so 7f90843da000-7f90845da000 ---p 2000 08:02 1802266 /lib/libdl-2.8.90.so 7f90845da000-7f90845db000 r--p 2000 08:02 1802266 /lib/libdl-2.8.90.so 7f90845db000-7f90845dc000 rw-p 3000 08:02 1802266 /lib/libdl-2.8.90.so 7f90845dc000-7f90845f3000 r-xp 08:02 1802277 /lib/libpthread-2.8.90.so 7f90845f3000-7f90847f2000 ---p 00017000 08:02 1802277 /lib/libpthread-2.8.90.so 7f90847f2000-7f90847f3000 r--p 00016000 08:02 1802277 /lib/libpthread-2.8.90.so 7f90847f3000-7f90847f4000 rw-p 00017000 08:02 1802277 /lib/libpthread-2.8.90.so 7f90847f4000-7f90847f8000 rw-p 7f90847f4000 00:00 0 7f90847f8000-7f908495b000 r-xp 08:02 2574826 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 7f908495b000-7f9084b5a000 ---p 00163000 08:02 2574826 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 7f9084b5a000-7f9084b67000 r--p 00162000 08:02 2574826 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 7f9084b67000-7f9084b7d000 rw-p 0016f000 08:02 2574826 /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 7f9084b7d000-7f9084b81000 rw-p 7f9084b7d000 00:00 0 7f9084b81000-7f9084bca000 r-xp 08:02 2574827 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 7f9084bca000-7f9084dca000 ---p 00049000 08:02 2574827 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 7f9084dca000-7f9084dcb000 r--p 00049000 08:02 2574827 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 7f9084dcb000-7f9084dd rw-p 0004a000 08:02 2574827 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 7f9084dd-7f9084e54000 r-xp 08:02 1802267 /lib/libm-2.8.90.so 7f9084e54000-7f9085053000 ---p 00084000 08:02 1802267 /lib/libm-2.8.90.so 7f9085053000-7f9085054000 r--p 00083000 08:02 1802267 /lib/libm-2.8.90.so 7f9085054000-7f9085055000 rw-p 00084000 08:02 1802267 /lib/libm-2.8.90.so 7f9085055000-7f90851be000 r-xp 08:02 1802257 /lib/libc-2.8.90.so 7f90851be000-7f90853bd000 ---p 00169000 08:02 1802257 /lib/libc-2.8.90.so 7f90853bd000-7f90853c1000 r--p 00168000 08:02 1802257 /lib/libc-2.8.90.so 7f90853c1000-7f90853c2000 rw-p 0016c000 08:02 1802257 /lib/libc-2.8.90.so 7f90853c2000-7f90853c7000 rw-p 7f90853c2000 00:00 0 7f90853c7000-7f90853de000 r-xp 08:02 2574315 /usr/lib/libz.so.1.2.3.3 7f90853de000-7f90855dd000 ---p 00017000 08:02 2574315 /usr/lib/libz.so.1.2.3.3 7f90855dd000-7f90855df000 rw-p 00016000 08:02 2574315

[Bug 212067] [NEW] Hardy Alternate installer blank log screen
Public bug reported: Hi, I have been using the ubuntu-8.04-beta-alternate-amd64.iso Sat Apr 5 11:09:53 2008 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) to rebuild one of my boxes. Typically I would netboot but the current netboot files will not detect any SATA hard drive in my amd64 or i386 computers. The installer is fine, but if you ALT-F2 through F4 to get to a busy-box or the log screen and then go back to the installer window after that all the busy-box screens are blank with a flashing cursor. For screen's 2 and 3 you can press enter and the shell prompt will appear, but the log screen is forever blank. If you flip between installer and busy-box screens then the busy-box screen will blank again, requiring ctrl-d and then enter to get a new shell prompt. Have tried this with both expert and non-expert modes, (F6 from the boot menu), and with verbose and quiet as part of the kernel string and on both computers. PC1: AMD Phenom, nVidia 8800GTS, 8GB DDR2-1066 (amd64 version of Alternate ISO) PC2: Intel Pentium Dual, ATI Radeon Express 1100, 2GB DDR2-667 (i386 version of Alternate ISO) I am putting this under busy-box as I do not know where it should be. In the install log I would get dpkg --configure -a messages for initramfs-tools Going through the log, the problem starts just after Processing triggers for libc when the message ldconfig deferred processing now taking place from this point on, the triggers for initramfs-tools fails with the message /usr/sbin/mkinitramfs: line 83 /etc/initramfs-tools /initramfs-tools.conf no such file or directory To work around the problem, once the installer reported that initramfs- tools was installed, I edited the /var/lib/dpkg/info/initramfs- tools.postinst file and on the second line typedexit 0 This would allow the installer to continue and allow me to select kernel-generic Once the kernel started to download I removed the exit 0 from the postinst file and update-initramfs would work. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid -- Ubuntu Hardy initramfs-tools netboot initramfs-tools.conf missing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/193951 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
