[Bug 1720954] [NEW] Progressbar in copy file to USB-Drive shows wrong information

2017-10-03 Thread einfach
Public bug reported:

Progress bar should show how much of file was written on USB/Drive not how much
of file was read into cache(or buffer). this causes that progress bar goes
really quick to 100% and then friezes. Which causes data loss, if user unmount
usb drive at 100%.
PS. there was another bug reported in 2009 and 2011. but there is no solution.
its very frustrating that that small bug which costs so little time to solve
and makes usability of system MUCH better, takes almost 10 years to solve.
PPS. please solve finally this problem, so I can further recommend Ubuntu to my
less experienced friends.

2008-03-08 Thread einfach
I didn't have this problem upgrading from a alpha3 version.
But now i have installed alpha5 from the scratch and there it is.

I cannot save the twinview configuration to X-Configuration File.

Is there another way to configure twinview with NVIDIA cards in Hardy?

[Bug 174330] [Gutsy] Kphotoalbum - Remove Tokens 2nd Time not possible to choose

2007-12-06 Thread einfach
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kphotoalbum

Hello,

I use Kphotoalbum to index more than 16.000 photos.
For easy indexing I use tokens while the slideshow runs.

If finished i can delete the tokens from menu EDIT - REMOVE TOKENS.
There i can select which tokens to delete.

NOW THE BUG:
If go 2nd time in EDIT - REMOVE TOKENS all is greyed out.
So i cannot remove the remaining tokens.

How can I fix this?

[Bug 162343] Re: Intermittent Video Playback Issue in Gutsy with NVIDIA restricted driver

2007-12-04 Thread einfach
I notice the same funny behaviour than Even Nedberg.

Sometimes video is normal on both screens.
Sometimes the screen with vga is ok and when I put totem in the middle of both
screens the dvi screen is scrambled and vga not.
Other times video plays some minutes and then suddenly scrambles. (But The
screenshot-option of totem brings normal pictures of the video playing.)

This problem is on totem vlc and also on flashplugin-nonfree of firefox
2.0.0.10

I use a Nvidia Winfast PX 6600 with 128MB videomemory.
The processor is intel dualcore with 2GB RAM.

[Bug 126489] Re: scan for new images takes 1 hour

2007-12-04 Thread einfach
Are you sure you saved before closing Kphotoalbum?

If you don't do this all of the indexing is lost.
The result is - Kp has to rescan your photos again.

The index is not stored automatically.
You have to manually save it.

Greetings

Andy

[Bug 140026] Re: impossible to set the correct resolution with dual monitor (intel card)

2007-09-18 Thread einfach
I have the same problem with 2 Monitors and NVIDIA 7300GS Cards.
The connected monitors are Yuraku MJ9CNK TFTs with 1280x1024 resolution.
They are not in the database so i have to choose Generic TFT with 1280x1024.
But i cannot select the Monitors.
It falls back to Plug and Play and lets me choose only 480x640 and 800x600.

What can i do to use these monitors with displayconfig-gtk.

does not recognize the Monitor and Video-card
after boot.
And so the Screen-res changes from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 and the Videodriver
changes from NVIDIA Series7 nv or nvidia to VESA

This error happens never when the Computer is less than about 8 hours off.
(When the Computer is only a few hours off - the driver and resolution are
always correct.)

The computer is completley turned off (no standby)

Is it possible that the Nvidia-card has a Bios which looses its
defaults?

The Computer is a Athlon64 with Nvidia7300

[Bug 107011] [apport] displayconfig-restore.py crashed with ImportError in module()

2007-04-16 Thread einfach
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

This happened for the first time.
It happened directly afther booting.
I don't see the KDE graphical interface but i am able to write these lines with
Konqueror.

But since October 2006 I have the problem with edgy and now with Feisty that it
does not recognize the Monitor and Video-card
after boot.
And so the Screen-res changes from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 and the Videodriver
changes from NVIDIA Series7 nv or nvidia to VESA

Re: [Bug 92574] Re: happened while starting Openoffice Writer from a .odt File

2007-03-19 Thread einfach
Hello Sebastien,

thank you for your mail.
Now i have installed valgrind.
But it is not possible for me to reproduce this crash.
I see two possible reasons for this:

1.) It was the first boot after installation without updates
2.) Now there have been some updates. For exampe a new xorg... and a new
Kernel.

But if I can help you anyway write me and I will do this.

Greetings from Munich / Germany

Andy

Thanks for your bug report. The crash looks like a memory corruption.
Could you try to get a valgrind log for it? (you can follow the
 instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind for that)

[Bug 92574] happened while starting Openoffice Writer from a .odt File

2007-03-15 Thread einfach
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I opened the File relax-recover-concept.odt which ist the Description of Relax
which was stored on the Desktop.
This file is downloadable from Sourceforge.

When the Splash-Screen of OpenOffice appeared the Panel disapeared.

Then OpenOffice.org Writer was started and the Panel was restarted, too
